Insomniac Games’ first foray into the Spider-Man franchise back in 2017 saw them incorporate many classic mechanics associated with the character. One of these features was the ability to pull out Peter’s camera and photograph various landmarks around New York. Taking these photos rewarded the player with tokens that could be used to unlock costumes. When the sequel Spider-Man 2 was announced, many fans wondered if this collectible would return. Luckily for us all, this feature and the reward for doing it did return in the sequel. Here is how to use the camera and take pictures in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

How to Take Pictures in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

To use the camera and take pictures in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the player must swipe up on the TouchPad of their PlayStation 5 controller and then hold L2 to aim and press R1 to take the photo.

After completing the opening tutorial missions in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the player will receive a mission called “Show Me New York”.

This mission has Peter apply for a job with ex-Daily Bugle employee and popular comic book character Robbie Robertson. Robbie will have Peter go around the city to take pictures of various people and locations.

Unlike the simple landmark photos in Marvel’s Spider-Man 1, the photos here can be a bit tricky to take as you’ll often need to get near ground level to get a good angle. Thankfully all photo ops will be marked on your map so it’s only a matter of time before you locate them all.

Despite these photo ops opportunities being Peter’s job, both Miles and Peter can take photos in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Miles even receives a quest later in the game called “Lights, Camera, Action” where the player must swing all around his high school campus taking photos.

Photo ops in Spider-Man 2 all reward the player with several Tech Parts and Tokens which can be exchanged for upgrades to their battle gadgets and can also be exchanged for new costumes that Peter and Miles can wear.

And that is all you need to know about how to use the camera and take pictures in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Check out other interesting Spider-Man 2 guides and articles:
