Marvel's Spider-Man 2: How to Change Suits

One of the greatest features of Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man games has always been the ability to change Spider-Man’s suit at any time. These costumes have typically been references to specific comic books and movies, with a few Insomniac original suits sprinkled in. This feature has allowed players to add their personal touch to their playthrough as they wear their favorite suits. In the years leading up to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s release, comic fans have speculated on what suits would be added and which they would wear. You can’t switch suits immediately upon starting the game though, here is how to change suits in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

How to Change Suits in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

To change suits in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the player must first complete the opening tutorial missions. This will unlock the suit section in the main menu. Thus allowing you to purchase suits in exchange for Tech Parts and various Tokens.

Gamers who either pre-ordered the game or purchased the launch edition will immediately receive two extra suits that do not require unlocking to wear. These extra suits are the Arachknight Suit for Peter and the Shadow-Spider Suit for Miles.

Like in the first Marvel’s Spider-Man game, many types of suit tokens must be obtained in a variety of ways. These methods include taking photos around the city, stopping street crimes, and finding the Prowler’s various safe houses. All activities and what tokens they give are thankfully marked on your map.

Unlike the first Marvel’s Spider-Man game, Spider-Man 2 features a whole new method of changing suits: color customization. By depositing more Tech Parts into your suits, you can select three separate color variations.

This can only be done with suits that originated from comics or the video game original suits though. Suits from Spider-Man movies cannot be changed.

Aside from allowing the player to give the suit their personal touch, these color variations also allowed Insomniac Games to sneak in more comic references. Such as changing the Superior Spider-Man suit to the Superior Octopus color scheme.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 features over 64 different suits, with a majority of them allowing you to change their colors. With this much suit variety, creative players can feel confident knowing that their Spider-Man 2 experience will be slightly unique from anyone else’s.
