How to Play Multiplayer Coop in Code Vein
Code Vein works in many ways a lot like Dark Souls and other Fromsoft games. Yes, there is multiplayer coop in Code Vein, but you will have to go through a lot of hoops to get it done. You can’t just press a button for your friend to join you.
Here is how to play multiplayer coop in Code Vein:
- When the game starts, select the Online Mode option.
- To start a multiplayer session, you will first need to enter a hostile area.
- Once you’ve entered an area, open the menu and select Multiplayer.
- You will have two options now. Either Send a Distress Signal to invite a friend to your world, or Search for Distress Signal to enter your friend’s world.
Doing this will open up your game for anyone to join. If you want to make the connection private, then you will have to create a password that people will need to use to answer your distress call.
How to Set Up Private Multiplayer Coop in Code Vein
Open the Settings in the menu and go to Network Settings. Enable the Matchmaking Password option and type in a password for people that want to join your session. Now, if you Send a Distress Signal, players that want to join your world will need to use the chosen password.
Multiplayer in Code Vein is relatively limited and is almost identical to a Souls game. Guests can’t initiate boss battles and they can only pick up items from dead enemies. A guest can’t join your game if they haven’t reached your area yet. You also need to be online all the time, there is no local coop multiplayer.
