Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly’s remake features sixteen different side stories that the player can venture off and complete in order to further fill their Ghost List and maybe obtain a few items like Prayer Beads along the way. With that much side content, it should come as now surprise that the one true sidequest from the original game still exists in the remake: the two lovers who came to town before Mio and Mayu. However, players expecting to retrace their steps from the original may become lost as this sidequest has actually been completely reworked in the Remake. If you are curious about the new steps in this sidequest chain, here is a Walkthrough for Miyako Sudo’s Side Story in the Fatal Frame 2 Crimson Butterfly Remake.
Miyako Sudo Side Story Walkthrough
Because Miyako’s side story exists to be a tutorial for future ones, it is very short and simple. The Side Story will begin after the player obtains the first Twin Jizo Key, as on their way back to the main part of the village a red journal called the Woman’s Notebook 6 will appear in your path. Picking it up will cause a spector of Miyako’s ghost to appear, which you should photograph for your List.
After photographing Miyako’s ghost, follow the path she was walking and make your way to Misono Hill. Here you will encounter her again as she overlooks the village. Take her photo and she’ll drop the Woman’s Notebook 7.
After reading Woman’s Notebook 7 we’ll need to backtrack to Osaka House, where we first fought Miyako. When approaching the house, Miyako’s ghost will briefly appear in the window by the door so be ready to photograph it.
Enter Osaka House and make your way back to the room where you first got the Camera Obsura, Miyako’s ghost will yet again appear when you reach the door to the Altar Room so be ready to snap another photo.
When you enter the room you will find the ghost of Miyako and a man sitting there, take one more photo and then pick up the Woman’s Notebook 8 which they left behind
After grabbing that notebook you’ll then want to make your way to the hallway in the back of the house, where yet another specter of Miyako will appear for you to photograph. Behind the door this specter opens you will find the Woman’s Notebook 10 as well as one more specter of her standing on the veranda.
After photographing that last specter and picking up the notebook, you will have to fight against Miyako’s ghost like you did in the tutorial. Because she was an actual tutorial enemy this fight won’t be very difficult.
After defeating Miyako you will obtain a Zousite which you can use to listen to her final moment via your Spirit Radio. Now even though Miyako’s role in the game isn’t over, this is the end of her Side Story. Miyako’s role will instead continue in Masumi Makimura’s Side Story.
