The February 2024 issue of V-Jump magazine shared many details about the future of Dragon Ball video games. With info on the upcoming End of Z DLC for Dragon Ball Z Kakarot and confirmation on there being another Sparking Zero trailer coming soon.

Among this interesting info was details about the future of Dragon Ball FighterZ, Arc System’s 2.5D fighting game based on the Dragon Ball IP. FighterZ grew to be a beloved fighting game among both casuals and hard-core fans over it’s lifespan, making fans eager for any info on the game’s future.

On one page of the magazine, Dragon Ball fans were greeted with the announcement that Dragon Ball FighterZ would be receiving an updated version for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X consoles!

This updated version of the game will reportedly feature a 4K graphical update, with one image on the page demonstrating this by zooming in on the audience in the World Tournament Arena, showcasing that they can all be seen clearly now.

Alongside this info, we have once again been given affirmation that the game will eventually be receiving rollback netcode for its online modes. Many fans are currently disappointed that there is no set date for this netcode implementation, as it had initially been announced in the summer of 2022 and still is nowhere to be seen.

Finally, one part of the page mentions that this version of the game will be a “Legendary Edition” which includes the game’s 20 DLC characters, making it a cheaper purchase than the game’s $100+ ultimate editions which included all the DLC.
