Baldur’s Gate 3 Karlach Epilouge Patch Out Now

On August 29th, 2023, Larian Studios announced that they would be adding new story content in the latest patch for their critically beloved role-playing game Baldur’s Gate 3. While no release date was initially given, that patch has now been released on August 31, 2023.

This patch sees many big changes to the game such as the edition of the Withers’ Wardrobe of Wayward Friends features which allows players to remove co-op avatars from their party.

In addition to this, players will notice many quality-of-life changes in the newest patch such as new icons for equipped items that shall make it easier to tell which character has the item equipped.

Players can also expect many performance issues in the game’s third act to be fixed. In addition to this, saved game files will now take up less space in the player’s hard drive.

The part of this patch that has excited players the most, however, is the new extended epilogue for Karlach. Previously players found the ending to her quest line to be underwhelming and as such Larian Studios sought to fix that with this patch.

After getting this patch, the player will experience several new scenes throughout the game where they are Karlach reflect on the state of her engine. These new scenes will eventually lead to her new ending.

Karlach’s extended epilogue has a new cutscene where she and the player travel into Avernus and finish fixing her engine. After this she and the player as assaulted by a horde of devils that they resolve to fight together.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is currently available to purchase on PC via Steam and GOG, with the PlayStation 5 version expected to be released on September 2nd, 2023. An Xbox Series S|X port of the game is also expected to be released in 2023, but no release date has been given currently.
