On October 28, 2026, Natsume Inc announced that the publisher had partnered with Imagineer Co., Ltd. and developer TOYBOX Inc in order to bring the supernatural fishing game AYAKASHI Fishing Folktails to the West in 2027.
The announcement came alongside a statement from Natsume’s president and CEO, Hiro Maekawa

About AYAKASHI Fishing Folktails
Developed by TOYBOX inc, (Led by Harvest Moon creator Yasuhiro Wada), AYAKASHI Fishing Folktails is a game where the player will star as a young man who must travel to various rivers and lakes to fish out the Cursed Lords in order to cure the world of a color-draining curse.
To catch the Cursed Lords, you’ll need to study fish habitats, research your targets in the Fish Encyclopedia, prepare the right gear, and just all around become a master fisherman.
