One of the biggest sins of the NBA 2k games is that great players such as Charles Barkley and Reggie Miller are missing from all rosters. They cannot be found or used in any way in the most popular basketball franchise out right now. However, one new problem that appears every year is that new players that were in previous games get removed from historical rosters because 2k decided they won’t lose a dime helping these retired players. Here is a full list of all the players removed from NBA 2k25’s roster.

Why Players Get Removed from NBA 2k Games
2k Games has obtained licensing agreements with the NBA, the NBA Players Association (NBPA), and individual players to use their likenesses and statistics in the NBA 2k series.
However, 2k hasn’t got a licensing agreement from the National Basketball Retired Players Association, which would give them a right to use most of the retired NBA players’ likeness. This controversy is one of the main reasons why Charles Barkley has been missing from their games for quite some time now.
Here’s Barkley’s statement on this:
I said this is what I’ll do, because giving me some money doesn’t help anybody. I said give the old retired players a million dollars and I’ll be in the video game.
