The final chapter of the Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly remake can either be a very short journey where the player immediately runs to the Kurosawa House to save Mayu, or a very long trek where you go around the entire village one final time in order to complete several Side Stories and put the final few specters of the town to rest. One Side Story in this chapter is that of the Tachibana Family’s. While each indivual member of this clan had a Side Story of their own already, they were such major characters throughout the game that it would feel wrong not to give them one last hurrah. If you are having any difficulty finding them or are simply confused on how to start this Side Story, feel free to consult this walkthrough for the Tachibana Family Side Story in the Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly Remake.
Tachibana Family Side Story Walkthrough
This Side Story is a short one, but before you can begin you must first complete Chitose Tachibana’s Side Story and Itsuki & Mutsuki’s Side Story in the final chapter of the game. Once both of those Side Stories have been completed, there will be a notification in tbe top left of your screen automatically informing you that this new Side Story has begun.
Once the Tachibana Side Story begins, make your way to the Tachibana House and go to the Tatami Room, here you will find specters of Itsuki, Mutsuki, and Chitose sitting on the floor and sharing a moment as a family. Take their photo and pick up of the journal that is left behind.

Next, we’ll want to head to the Heavenly Bridge which connects the Tachibana House to the Kiryu House. Here you will once again find the specters of the three past members of the Tacbibana Clan. As the siblings share a touching moment which may have been their last one together, take their photo.
Once the specters disappear, pick up the spirit stone they left behind, this will allow you to listen to their final conversation before death and can be equipped as a charm for your camera in order to help you with other ghost encounters. This Side Story is short and simple, likely because it’s just a reward for completing the prior two Side Stories.
