While most Side Stories in the Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly remake are standalone and can be completed in any order, there are a few in the game which require compelling several others in order to progress. One example of this is Azami Kiryu’s Side Story, which pulls together plot threads from several parts of the game and needs the player to complete the Children at Play Side Story to even begin. Azami Kiryu Side Story Walkthrough
After completing the Children at Play Side Story, Azami will appear on the small bridge connecting Eikado Temple to the rest of the village. Read the journal she leaves behind and you will be directed to the Cemetery to the left of Mikado Hill.
Now, you won’t actually be able to find Azami in the Cemetery until you complete Akane Kiryu’s Side Story. Attempting to go there before gettint closure with her sister will simply lead you to a dead end. Once you complete Akane’s Side Story, you will obtain a photo which can be used to create a path to Azami’s Grave. Pick up the journal by this grave and a specter of Azami will appear.
Attempt to follow Azami and you will be put into a battle against the three village kids one final time. Unlike the other fights against them though, they aren’t immediately aware of your location and are spread throughout the cemetery. So if you aren’t feeling like fighting all three at once you can pick them off one by one by standing still and not agro-ing the other two.
After defeating the village children, you will need to equip your Exposure Lens and head to the another corner of the cemetery to find one more Remnant of Azami. Take her photograph and you’ll be gifted with a final journal that closes off the story of Azami, Akane, and the other children of the Lost Village.
