Each mission in 007: First Light has multiple optional challenges that the player can perform while playing. Completing each challenge in a stage will earn the player a reward that they may use in the game’s Tactical Simulator mode. The first mission in the game, Against the Odds, has an unlockable outfit, The Iceland Outfit, for any player willing to replay the mission and earn it. If you are having any difficulty completing the challenges in this mission or simply want to know what the game wants you to do, then please follow this walkthrough for every challenge in Against the Odds in 007: First Light.
All Against the Odds Challenges in 007: First Light
There are nine optional challenges for the player to complete in the Against the Odds mission. Each challenge can be completed from the Central Camp checkpoint, so you won’t need to replay the whole tutorial while doing challenges.Below is a list of each challenge in the stage.

Unfortunately, it is NOT possible to complete them all in a single playthrough, as some require the player to not be seen and kill minimal enemies, while others require you to kill as many enemies as possible.
Because of this, I would recommend attempting to minimize your playtime by attempting Pacifist, Ghost, No Help Needed, and Scenic Route challenges in a single playthrough of the mission and then performing a second playthrough where you complete the Full of Surprises, 00 To Become, and High Ground challenges. Finally, you’ll need to do a third playthrough for the Assault challenge.
If you are having any difficulty with a specific challenge, here are step-by-step guides for each one.
Pacifist
The first challenge in your list is a pacifist run of the stage. There are two soldiers you are required to take down to complete this mission, so do not target any of the others; just do your best to sneak by them.
When starting the mission, immediately head to container F8, use the ladder to access the zipline, and reach the roof of Container G9. From here, you can do a takedown from above on the guard watching the hostages here.
Once he has been taken down, sneak over to container B4 via the crevasse near container G9 and take out the guard there. From there, just play through the mission normally without knocking anyone else out to complete this challenge.
Ghost
The next challenge is one all about stealth. To earn this, you’ll need to sneak by the guards and free all the hostages without being seen. Using takedowns on guards is permitted, so just take your time and be careful. If you use the same route we highlighted in the Pacifist challenge you should be able to get this done fast.
Assault
For this challenge, we’ll need to first fight four soldiers without alerting the rest of the camp. As far as I can tell it isn’t possible to do this and 7 takedowns in a single run as many of the soldiers are packed together. Before fighting a soldier, make sure they are completely isolated. Fights can be quite loud, but if you’re careful, you can quickly knock them out before anyone hears you. Here are four soldiers you can easily isolate and fight without being noticed.
- The soldier in Container B2 near the start is already isolated from everyone. Just get his attention by walking up to him and then punching him.
2. Next to container G9, there are two guards. Use the radio to draw one near you for a cover takedown and then punch his friend to death.
3. With them taken out, walk into container G9 and punch the guard in there instead of doing a takedown on him.
4. Sneak your way into container B4 and punch the guard in there.
No Help Needed
To complete this challenge, you’ll need to sneak through camp without using either the BT65 or the ATV to distract the guards. There aren’t a ton of enemies in this stage, so this won’t be too hard. Just make sure to use the ziplines and crevasse connecting containers G9 and B4 to move around.
Full of Surprises
This Challenge is the complete opposite of the previous one, as it requires you to use BOTH the BT65 and ATV to distract the guards. The BT65 can be sabotaged with a laptop near container G8, while the ATV can have its brakes broken near container B4
00 To Become
For the next challenge, we’ll need to use takedowns on 7 different soldiers in camp without being spotted. We’re already required to use takedowns on 2 soldiers, so it’s just a matter of finding 5 more around the camp. For the sake of making this speedy, here is the fastest method for taking down seven enemies in the camp
- As soon as the mission begins, make your way to the cliff on the left and keep your camera pointed to the right. Once you see a man you can perform an aerial takedown on, do it
2&3. After knocking that man out, stealthily make your way to his two friends and perform takedowns on them. Don’t worry about their conversation; you won’t get spotted if you interrupt it with a takedown
4. Make your way to container G9 and use the radio to draw the guard close to you. Perform a cover takedown on him when he gets close
5. Climb to the top of container G9 and then jump to the nearby container. Perform an aerial takedown on the guard you can see from here
6. Perform an aerial takedown on the guard in container G9
7. Make your way back to the start and perform a takedown on the guard standing in container B2
With seven guys successfully knocked out, you’ll have completed the challenge.
High Ground
Next, we need to make sure we use aerial takedowns on 3 different soldiers around camp. Because we already need to do one on the soldier guarding the hostages in container G9, this is a matter of finding two more around the camp. I would recommend doing this challenge at the same time as the previous one, as I made sure to highlight three guards you can perform aerial takedowns on there.
Scenic Route
For this challenge, you’ll need to use one of the multiple ziplines in camp. These ziplines will quickly take you to the roof of one of the other buildings they’re connected to.
The quickest way to complete this challenge is to infiltrate container F9 immediately after being told you need to rescue the hostages. Once here, climb up the ladder of the building and then climb the second ladder to the power lines that connect the entire camp.
From here, you can zipline to quickly reach the hostages and earn yourself a challenge reward in the process.
