Riot Games’ critically acclaimed first-person shooter and top esports game Valorant could potentially be coming to several non-PC platforms in the near future!
This information comes from the Twitter user and Valorant fan Kingdom Labratories2 | Games, who upon examining the code for Valorant discovered a few strings that seem to suggest crossplay mechanics being added to the game in the near future.

These lines of code make reference to the game being compatible with playing against PS4, Switch, Xbox, Android, IOS, Linux, and Mac users. This has of course raised eyebrows as Valorant is not currently available on any of those platforms, though a mobile port has been announced.
The mention of Linux PCs in particular has excited many as this would make the game compatible with Valve’s Steam Deck platform, something that many fans of the game have been asking Riot Games for.
This seems to suggest that at some point in the near future, Valorant will be ported to these platforms, allowing players to fight against each other no matter which console, computer, or mobile device they own.
In addition to this, Riot Games had listed job positions for playtesters of a console game. Even further suggesting that the rumored Switch port will occur sooner rather than later. Potentially happen within the first half of 2024 if rumors are to be believed.
However it of course must be stated that this isn’t an official confirmation of an upcoming port. There are many possible explanations for this code existing in the game. Such as a port existing at some point and being scrapped.
As such, exercise caution when discussing this leak as until an official announcement is made, Valorant is still exclusively playable on Windows platforms.
Valorant is currently available to download and play for free on Riot Games’ official website Playvalorant.com.
