Video game publisher Bandai Namco has released a new trailer for their upcoming 3D fighting game Tekken 8. This trailer showcases four returning fighters from previous games who will be playable in the new title.
The first returning character showcased in the trailer is Xiaoyu’s beloved Panda. Panda first debuted in Tekken 3 and has always been characterized by a nearly identical moveset to the series’ other bear fighter: Kuma.
Next up in the trailer was the reveal that Zafina would be returning to the Tekken roster. Zafina’s first playable appearance was in Tekken 6 and since then she has become known as a tricky-to-fight character due to her quick stance changing and ability to strike from a safe range.
Third in the trailer, Lee Chaolan was revealed to be returning in Tekken 8. Lee has been around since the very first Tekken game, but he has been known to sit titles out. So confirmation that he is returning is a welcome gift to fans.
The fourth character revealed in the trailer is the ever-popular Alisa. Alisa made her franchise debut in Tekken 6 and has since gone on to represent the franchise in various crossover games. Her robotic gimmicks such as the Rocket Punch make her one of the most unique characters in the franchise.
Finally, the trailer reveals that Devil Jin will indeed be playable in Tekken 8. This demonic version of the current series protagonist Jin Kazuma first debuted in Tekken 5 and has since gone on to terrorize players with laser attacks and flight.
The trailer then ends with a montage of various fighters before revealing that there are still two unrevealed characters in the roster. The first of which will be shown on November 2, 2023 while the second will be shown on November 12, 2023.
Tekken 8 releases January 26, 2024. Pre-orders are currently available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC via Steam.
