A quick rough and ready guide to get you through the game without missing anything. Created as I play. Spoiler warning in effect (it’s a guide, deal with it).
This specific guide goes from the start of the game to what I call the “recruitment phase”.
Head to Magician’s Island and retrieve the Astrological Forecasts from Leknaat
Boss
Clay Golem: HP 300, weak to Lightning, resistant to Fire and Wind. Beat at lvl 3

5. Leave the castle in Gregminster and head right to reach the stables. That’s where your ride is.

Ant Queen. This boss is unbeatable. Just have to survive 3 turns.

Varkas and Sydonia: Varkas HP 210, Sydonia HP 140. Skill Sydonia first, use magic on Varkas if you still have it available. Beat at lvl 6.

14. Rockland is East of Gregminster and Mt. Seifu is East of Rockland. Map 3 is hand-shaped so I use fingers as a reference point. The middle finger path on map 3 is the path forward.

It’s Southwest of Seika, near the water. You need to go to the tavern (lower right side) once you are there to find Tai Ho. And yes, you have to gamble with him. Good luck.

Camilla joins if you talk to her in the tavern.
Establish a base at Toran Lake Castle
Boss
Zombie Dragon: HP 3700. Weak to Fire and Holy. Use Magic and Healing as much as you can. The dragon has a devastating breath attack that is inconsistent. Sometimes it will use it twice in a row, sometimes it waits several turns. Beat with 1 character at lvl 15 and 5 characters at lvl 16.

16. You have to take a boat West of Kaku. There are 2 hidden paths in the wall.

- 1 on map 9, right side. Contains: Antitoxin
- 2 on map 11, 1 upper right, 1 lower left (hidden path just below the entrance to this map. Go down, then right, then down, then left). Contains: Wind Orb and Haziness Rune
Allies
Tai Ho will join you after you arrive at the Castle.
Luc and Yam Koo will join you once you’ve beaten the boss and established your base.

The cave area will close off after you establish your base so make sure to grab everything
Go out and recruit characters
You can now start recruiting characters. The characters you can recruit before the next major storyline are:
- Chandler, speak to him outside of Kwaba. He’ll open an item shop for you.
- Maria, speak to her at the Seika inn. She’ll run your inn.
- Antonio, speak to him at the Seika inn after Maria (who is already at the castle) comments about needing help in the kitchen. Just keep prompting her. He’s a combat character (don’t use him).
- Onil, speak to her in her house in Seika. She provides snippets of relevant information.
- Sergei, speak to him at the Kaku tavern. He’ll install an elevator for you.
- Lorelai, speak to her at the Kourn (South of Kaku) inn. She will only join if the MC is lvl 25. She is a combat character
- Kai, speak to him at Garan Fortress (West of Kouan). He’s a combat character.
- Maas, speak to him at the Great Forest (Southeast of Kaku) blacksmith shop. He will open a smithy for you.
- Sansuke, speak to him in his house at the Great Forest. He installs a bath at the castle and is a combat character (don’t use him).
