How to Feed Herbivore Animals Using Pens in RimWorld

RimWorld Feed Pen Animals

Using pens is a simple method of feeding the virtual animals you have in RimWorld. It is designed particularly for cattle. Simply put your animals in the enclosure, and they will begin to graze on the stored food. This can include grass, kibble, and more.

Dandelion is the ideal food to grow in a pen. In contrast to other plants in the game, such as haygrass, it not only offers excellent nourishment but also grows quite quickly. Additionally, there aren’t many other things you can use dandelions for.

You may make sure that your pen is specialized to a certain species or gender to conserve resources. As a result, there will be fewer animal births and fewer mouths to feed. Simply choose the dropdown menu and uncheck the options you don’t want. This is how you feed pen animals in RimWorld.

How to Feed Carnivore / Omnivore Pet Animals

In addition to cattle, you can have other animals that need to be fed. These animals can consume any food that is present in their permitted area of mobility. Therefore, you must ensure that the zone you create is large enough to both watch over and feed the inhabitants of.

While you can feed your pets ordinary food, you might not want to. This is due to the fact that you will be depriving your colonists. To feed your RimWorld pets instead, you can prepare your own kibble. It is prepared using unwanted ingredients that people won’t consume, and it lasts forever.

You only need to carry out the following steps to create a pet zone:

  1. Click Architect and select Zone
  2. Choose Expand allowed area.
  3. Select Manage areas from the dropdown menu at this point.
  4. Choose “New area”

Give it a short name, then click Expand authorized area once again. Your new section ought to now be visible in the dropdown menu. To create a new zone for your pets to stay in, select the same. You must now adjust your pet’s zone to the same one. Select “Animals” from the menu.

Click on the newly established area. Your pet will now remain within the zone’s border. To feed them, simply put a food storage in it. Now you shouldn’t have to worry about feeding your RimWorld pets or protecting them from wolves or other predators.
