Pokemon Legends: Z-A – All Colorful Screws Locations

Pokemon Legends Z A Colorful Screws Locations

Want to see Raider King content first? Add us as a preferred source.

Do you want to almost always catch every Pokemon on your first attempt? Do you want to stop fainting during all of the Mega Pokemon battles? Do you wanna be rich? Then spending a few hours collecting a lot of Colorful Screws is the right way to get everything you want. Colorful Screws are a collectible in Pokemon Legends: Z-A which can be traded to get all of the benefits I listed above. To get these, you’ll need to beat small platforming courses scattered across the map.

Since there’s a lot of these parkour locations on the map, the best way to segment this guide is by Districts and Sectors, to keep it easy to follow. There’s also a checklist right before the list of location starts, so you can come back and keep track of which ones you got and which ones you missed.

If you have any questions or need any extra help, please hit me up on Discord, since I’m always available there!

Where to Find Racine Construction – Colorful Screws Redeem Location

If you got the notification that you can trade in Colorful Screws for Canari plush, but have no idea where to do this, here’s the location:

It’s just a little to the north-east of the train station, with a lot of people dressed in blue and yellow hanging around.

For 3 Screws you can get Lv. 1 for one of these plushies, 5 for Lv. 2, and 8 for the final Lv. 3. Which means you’ll need 77 Screws to get all levels (you get Red plushie Lv. 1 by default). There’s also a final plushie when you reach 100 Screws, which doesn’t offer any bonuses and just gets exposed in the player’s room.

How to Glide / How to Unlock Glide

A lot of the Colorful Screws will be impossible to get until you unlock Glide. To get Glide, you need to reach rank E and talk to Taunie on the rooftop behind the hotel.

To make the guide useful for both early game and mid to late game, I’ve written for all of the Screws that are impossible to get “Glide-only“, so you know to return when you reach rank E.

Colorful Screws in District Vert

There’s 22 Screws in the District, 8 of them unavailable until you get Glide.

Sector 1

We’ll start off right from the location overlooking the tower in Centrico Plaza. There’s a scaffolding right on the northern edge Vert Sector 1. Climb the ladder, jump down and approach the arrow to climb to the Screw. Very easy one.

After the previous one, follow the canal until you reach an alley on the right. You’ll find a tall scaffolding this time. Climb the ladder on the right, jump using the arrow platform, and pass using the tight bridge. Jump down to the lower level, pass the second bridge, and you’ll get another Screw.

  • Glide-only

Climb up to the roof of using the course from Sector 3 (Screw 5) and jump into the courtyard.

Sector 2

There’s only on Screw in Sector 2, and it’s on top of the building. Climb the ladder in the northern part of the Sector and walk to the left and south until you reach a bunch of brown boxes. Climb using the boxes on the gray big box and roll off of it onto the building to the south. You’ll have to catch the edge and climb.

At this point, you’ve already seen the purple pokeball location to the southeast, so just walk to it and pick it up. Maybe even catch an Larvitar on the way.

Sector 3

  • Glide-only

I’d sooner put this one into Sector 1, but the game says it’s Sector 3 under the mini-map, so we’ll go with that. Right at the eastern edge of Sector 1, going into Sector 3, there’s a relatively large scaffolding course.

Climb the ramps and the ladders until you reach a dead end. From there, roll off and then glide to get to the other side. Get up the ladder and you’ll find the purple pokeball at the top.

The next one is on top of the building in the southern part of Sector 3, above Cafe Cyclone. To enter the inner courtyard, you’ll need to destroy the purple blobs using any Water-type move. Teleport to the roof and you’ll see a scaffolding course to the north. Climb to the top, jump to the right, and walk to the purple pokeball.

  • Glide-only

This next one might be part of the unreachable early game pack. Climb up at the top of the building you just climbed earlier for Screw 6 and you’ll see a platform off of the edge, looking to the north. Roll off and you’ll land on the main building from Sector 3.

The purple pokeball is on top of a rooftop entrance to the west. Go to the egde of the blue rooftop, roll off, and then glide onto the entrance where the Screw is waiting.

Coulant Waterway

Adjacent to Sector 3, the Waterway has one course that you can easily do in 2 tries max. Climb up to the dead end and roll onto the next part of the course. Climb the ladder, pass the really long bridge (careful with this one), and you’ll reach the Screw.

Sector 4

All of the Screws in Sector 4 are accessible by using the elevator to the south-west, close to the Center.

For the first and easiest one, you just need to jump down into the courtyard and take the elevator in the eastern part. Then walk on the rooftop to the north-western part and you’ll see it from quite a distance.

  • Glide preferred

This one, I you can maybe roll onto the platform, but I tried a dozen times and failed (a few users in the comments on Reddit specified you can do it without Glide, but I don’t suggest it if you don’t want to waste a lot of time trying to get the right timing).

To get it, get on top of its roof. Then walk off and, just as you pass the level you’re supposed to get to, press A to glide and jump onto the platform. If you press to early, you’ll miss the entrance, and too late, you’ll be too low.

Take the elevator to the south up and, right from the elevator’s edge, roll onto the golden ball’s platform’s roof. From that roof, roll onto the purple pokeball’s platform.

Sector 5

Right in the middle of the park north-west of the hotel. A pretty easy course, just climb and walk carefully on the bridges to get to the purple pokeball.

  • Glide-only

This is one of the ones you’ll see early on and have no idea how to reach. Once you get Glide, you’ll have access to the rooftops in Sector 5, allowing you to get to this purple pokeball. Once at the location, jump off the roof and press A just as you reach the same height as the platform.

Sector 6

Another easy one. You just need to follow the trail. The course is located right behind Racine Construction. Climb all the way to the roof and then jump down on the platform with the purple pokeball.

The next one is right on top of Restaurant Le Nah. To get there, climb the ladder behind the building to the south of the restaurant, and roll of the edge onto the other roof.

This one’s technically in South Boulevard, but it’s adjacent, so I’ll go with that. Right to the north of Racine Construction there’s a ladder to a high scaffolding. At the top, roll onto the lower platform, climb, and get the purple pokeball at the top.

If you can Glide, just jump from the top to the Screw.

Sector 7

There’s one inside Racine Construction, right in the back of the room. I found it during Rank D promotion Main Mission.

For the first one in this Sector I’m not going to even show a guide. This one is likely the first one you picked up, right next to Racine Construction. Just walk up the platform and you’ll get it.

  • Glide-only

This one isn’t actually hard to get at all. The problem is you need a Holovator that can only be activated right about the same time you get Glide, so I’ll put it as Glide-only. On the northern edge of the roof of the building exactly west of Racine Construction.

Sector 8

  • Glide-only

There’s only one near the hotel, and it’s tricky to get to. First, go up the ladder behind the hotel and glide to the left, as you did when you first learned to Glide. Then, climb the ladder to the top of the hotel and then the second ladder to the right. Here’s where you’ll need to do a little trick.

Look down from where you came and walk to the left. Walk off the edge while spamming A and Glide onto the higher blue part of the roof. Once you do this, walk along the edge until you reach a part where the blue roof ends.

Glide again to the north-eastern blue roof and walk to the north-eastern side of the hotel. At this point, if you look in the distance at the only building higher than the hotel, you’ll see the purple pokeball. Jump down, go up the ladder, and you’ll get the Screw.

One of the first ones you can actually get, you’ll need to climb the ladder next to the river, behind the hotel, then walk to the south-east until you see a bunch of scaffolding hanging next to the building. Jump down the levels until you reach the purple pokeball.

Sector 9

  • Glide-only

Take the Holovator next to Wild Zone 1 and do a bit of jumping on roofs to get to the north-eastern corner of Sector 9. You’ll only need to use Glide to get to the last building.

Colorful Screws in District Bleu

There’s 18 Screws in the District, 3 of them unavailable until you get Glide.

Sector 3

  • Glide-only

We start right off with a simple double jump, also known as Glide, Screw in this District. Right north of Cafe Woof and to the left.

Simple course in the southern part of Sector 3, climb the stairs and then the ladder to the red pokeball. Roll off onto the other part of the course and walk your way to the purple pokeball at the top.

Aymlis Park

  • Glide-only

From Screw 2, you can walk back on the bridge and Glide jump onto the roof to the north. Climb the edge and follow the path to Aymlis Park. Going to the right will lead you right to a Screw.

Sector 5

Here we’ve got 3 Screws in the same location. A few feet south-west of Bleu Plaza you’ll find a gigantic course. Start from the right, follow the trail, and you’ll reach the purple pokeball at the top of the ladder.

For the next one, you just need to roll from the top where you got Screw 4 onto the second set of platforms. Just climb your way to the top and you’ll get another Screw.

For the third and last one, you’ll need to abandon the course and go a bit further into Sector 5. To the south-east, right where Sector 5 is written on the map, there’s a sewer with Magikarp in it. Go down and to the right, break the ice to build a bridge, and continue on your way to climb on the roof.

Sector 6

There’s two Screws on a course in the little park outside Sector 6. Climb the course on the right, roll onto the second part of the course, pick the Screw from behind the staircase, and climb to the top to get the 2nd one.

From the roof you’ve just reached, jump down on the roof of the Passage and walk up to the ladder to the building to the east. The Screw is right in the upper-right corner, overlooking the Plaza.

Sector 4

There’s only one Screw in Sector 4, and it can only be reached from Sector 6, hence it’s position in this guide.

From the top of the course in Sector 6, walk on the roof all the way to the tall building in Sector 4 and climb it. Jump down to the east and you’ll get another Screw.

Sector 7

An easy one, to the east of Truck No. 2. Climb the two ladders and drop down to the level where the purple pokeball is shining.

From the platform you just reached for the previous Screw, climb on the roof and walk all the way around the whole rooftop section to reach the purple pokeball you probably saw the moment you reached the top.

If you have Glide, just jump from the roof right at the railing where the Screw is sitting.

  • Glide-only

This one’s not necessarily Glide-only, but you’ll need a Holovator that unlocks late to get here without Glide, so I’ll put it in that category.

Without the Holovator, you can Glide from the previous Screw and walk around the rooftop of the eastern side of Sector 7 until you reach the north-eastern edge.

Extremely easy course on Vernal Avenue. You can’t do anything wrong to fail this one besides falling off the bridge at the end.

Another one of the simpler ones that you might have completed already. Located on South Boulevard, south of where Bleu Sector 7 is written on the map, there’s 2 Screws on this course.

Climb the ladder to the right, climb the 2nd one to the top, and pass the three bridges, and you’ll get one Screw. The, drop down to the right and you’ll get the 2nd one.

Sector 9

  • Glide preferred

On South Boulevard, south-west of Sector 9, across Cafe Soleil. Start from the left and climb to the top. The initial hard part will be crossing this bridge, so slow-walk. After the bridge, comes the really hard part for no Gliders, or the extremely easy part for Glide.

If you have Glide, just Glide to the top where the Screw is.

If not, you’ll have to roll from the top and try to reach the left corner, right where the cone is. As you’re rolling, you have to hug the wall and hope you somehow bug a bit so you land right there, on the spot shown above. You’ll realize you’re close to getting it if you can walk for a millisecond before failing to reach the actual top. Timing is king here.

Once you pass this hard part, climb the ladder to the right and you’ll have reached the Screw.

Sector 10

On South Boulevard, west of Sector 10. This one’s a bit weird, but very easy. Climb on the right and walk to the end. Slow-walk off to get to the lower level and walk under the platform to get the Screw.

Colorful Screws in District Magenta

There’s 16 Screws in the District, 2 of them unavailable until you get Glide.

Sector 1

Simple course east of Cafe Gallant.

Sector 2

Course in the inner courtyard of Sector 2. Climb to the top, roll onto the platform on the other side, and make your way to the purple pokeball at the top.

Sector 3

Inside the inner courtyard of the northern building. Take the Holovator on Estival Avenue, next to Cafe Gallant, and make your way onto the building using the bridge between them. Jump into the courtyard, the Screw is in the northern corner.

Sector 5

This screw spawns only once Wild Zone 9 appears on the map.

There’s two ways to get to this one. There’s a course that starts on the tight alley in the eastern part of Sector 5. You can climb the ladder and follow the course’s natural, well, course. Drop to a platform, climb another ladder, then walk straight and go around the corner to find the Screw.

You can also break the rocks below, walk to the end where you’ll find a ladder, climb to the roof, and drop on the platform below to reach the Screw instantly. You can see where you need to land from the image above.

Sector 6

In the northern part of Sector 6, there’s a large course that also gives you access to the rooftops. There’s two Screws here, one at the bottom, and one at the top.

To get the one at the bottom, follow the normal path of the course and stop when you climb a staircase looking directly at the floor above the Screw. Drop down on the little platform next to the staircase and roll onto the platform with the Screw.

For the one at the top, just follow the course’s path until you reach the roof.

  • Glide-only

From the roof you reached using the previous course, walk south and climb all the way to the top. Further south you’ll find the Screw on top of a structure you can only reach using Glide from the highest roof.

There’s also a TM hidden behind the staircase, so make sure to take a look.

Two Screws in one location, at the intersection with South Boulevard. The one at the top is easy, climb the first ladder, roll onto the next platform, climb the second ladder, and you got it.

The second one though, I’ll put it under…

  • Glide preferred

I’ve actually managed to get this one with roll, but you need perfect timing on the roll. You can see above the exact spot I pressed roll to get there. Otherwise, after rolling from the first platform to the second, just Glide to the platform.

Extremely easy course, like most of the Boulevard seem to be. Climb a ladder, drop down, climb another ladder, done.

Sector 7

Take the Holovator in Magenta Plaza/Sector 4 and walk to the west. Roll off the edge (or Glide, if you can) onto the next roof, walk around the whole building, and find the Screw hidden behind a bunch of chimneys.

Sector 8

Behind the Pokemon Center, there’s a small course. Climb the ramps, roll onto the final part, and walk the edge to get the Screw. If you miss or overcompensate on the roll, just use the small ladder to get up.

Sector 9

There’s a large course on North Boulevard, right to the west of Sector 9. One of the Screws is Glide-only and one is Glide preferred.

You’ll first have to climb the high structure to the south, the only one with an available ladder.

If you have Glide, just Glide to the closer Screw first, try to land right on top of it’s platform. If you miss, try to Glide one by one on the levels to get to it. Drop off the ledge, spam A, and get to the higher level. After that, Glide on the northern platform, cross the bridge, and you’re done.

If you don’t have Glide, you can only get the northern Screw. As you look down to the left you’ll see 3 levels blocked off by fences. Roll from the top and try to land on the 2nd fence. Once you land, you have access to the full course to get to the top and get the further Screw.

Incredibly easy course. Inside Sector 9 there’s a big course. Start from the north-east where you’ll find a ladder. Then, the whole course, all you do is look for ladders and climb them. At the top you’ll find the Screw.

Reach the roof using the previous course, climb the ladder to reach the roof of the taller building south-west, and drop below to get the Screw.

Colorful Screws in District Rouge

There’s 25 Screws in the District, 7 of them unavailable until you get Glide.

Sector 1

Two Screws right in the midlle of Rouge Sector 1. There’s a course in the courtyard, one that only requires a nicely placed roll, and one that is Glide-only.

For the first one, just climb on the scaffolding and roll onto the container below.

For the second one, you’ll need to Glide to get to the next platform and get the Screw.

Activate the Holovator west of Rouge Plaza, go around the north, and pick up the Screw at the end. You can activate the Holovator by beating the worker next to it.

There’s a course right on the street next to the previous Screw. In theory, the devs likely though we would climb there and use Glide or something to get around, but you can just drop down from the roof to both locations here.

Sector 3

This one’s on the roof of Restaurant Le Yeah. We go back to the eternal Holovator at Rouge Plaza. Yes, again, and you pass a web bridge, advance and pass a normal bridge, then pass the leafy bridge, and you’ve reached the Screw.

This is probably the only course I actually found interesting. It’s on North Boulevard with 2 Screws.

You start from the right and have to roll as soon as you climb up the ramps. Then roll off the top of both staircases. Climb the ladder and you got Screw 7. Then, you need to roll of the edge, and I mean the edge, to get on the little beam holding Screw 8.

Glide makes the last part extremely easy.

Take the Holovator in North Boulevard and walk all the way back to Sector 3 on the rooftops. It’s on the highest level of the roof.

Sector 4

On top of Passage Ombrage. Use the ladder at the south corner.

Sector 5

Take the Holovator across the street from Sushi High Roller, go to the edge of the roof on the highest level to the north, and roll across onto the roof of Looker Bureau.

Sector 7

  • Glide-only

Take the Holovator across the street from Sushi High Roller, go north and roll off the roof, followed by a Glide onto the next roof.

Relatively straightforward course west of Wild Zone 4. Climb a ladder and try to roll on the higher platform, not the obvious one. Aim for the corner of the building and you’ll make it.

Impossible to fail course south of the big structure in Sector 7. Climb the ramps, roll onto the next platform (don’t worry, even if you don’t roll, you have a ladder below), and get the Screw.

Climb the ladder north of the training court and go full circle around the building’s rooftop to reach the Screw.

Sector 8

All of Sector 8 is Glide-only.

  • Glide-only

North from Cafe Kizuna. Follow the course until you reach the highest point and Glide to the Screw.

  • Glide-only

Start the course from the north, inside the courtyard in the western building of Sector 8. Climb the ladder and Glide to the first Screw. For the second, try to press A as soon as you reach the same height as the platform. Pressing earlier might still give you a chance if you somehow an inch on the platform.

  • Glide-only

For the third one from this course, climb to the top and Glide across to the south. Climb the last ladder and drop off from the side. Press A just as soon as you reach the same height as the platform.

Passage du Palais

  • Glide-only

From the rooftop you reached from Sector 8, walk to the north and Glide onto the Passage buildings rooftop. Break the Mega Crystals and climb the ladder to the highest point to find the Screw.

North of Passage du Palais, on North Boulevard, there’s a big course with two Screws.

For the first one, you just need to get started from the right, climb a ladder and roll into a passage, climb another ladder, and roll onto the platform with the reward.

For the second one, you follow the exact same steps to the top where you rolled off. This time, drop down on the platform to the south with the bridge and slow walk that bridge since it’s very long. At the other end, slow walk the beam until you reach the edge and roll off to get on the next platform. Get to the end of the second bridge and you’re done.

Academie Etoile

Both Screws here are on top of the academy.

  • Glide-only

Use the Holovator north of the academy and pass the web bridge to the east. Roll off the roof and Glide to get onto the roof of the academy.

  • Glide-only

From the spot you’ve reached for the previous Screw, walk on the ledge of the rooftop to advance south and drop down to the 24th Screw.

Sector 2

To reach this one, you’ll just need to get to the roof of the Galerie de la Lune. Start the course and stop when you reach a bridge where you can’t continue the course. Here, you’ll need to drop off below.

Get to the roof using the ladders and drop down to the Screw.

Colorful Screws in District Jaune

There’s 19 Screws in the District, 7 of them unavailable until you get Glide.

Sector 3

There’s a quick course that you just have to climb. Nothing special here, the Screw is close to the top, impossible to miss.

From the top of the course from earlier, advance to the roof, go around the left to climb the north-western roof, and drop down at the end on the ledge, overlooking the Avenue, to pick up the Screw.

  • Glide-only

From the same roof from earlier, Glide across the street to the south on the next building. Go around half-circle and you’ll find the Screw hidden behind some crates at the end.

Sector 4

Ignore the whole course here. Take the Holovator and drop down from the roof to get the Screw.

Sector 5

Take the Holovator up Hibernal Avenue (the same one from earlier) and walk down south-east to pass into Sector 5. Drop down into the inner garden and you’ll find the Screw on a bunch of wooden crates.

EDIT: It seems there’s a ladder next to the Pokemon Center you can use to get to the roof and walk to the screw.

Use the Holovator in Sector 11, next to the Pokemon Center, and, right from the Holovator point, roll and Glide to the other side of Jaune Street. Make your way around the rooftops until you get back into Sector 5 and walk to the north till the end.

    Sector 7

    • Glide-only

From the point you reached earlier for Screw 6, jump across to the west and then head north. You’ll reach a point where you can see a sealed off big balcony. You’ll have to roll Glide across and land on the or after the fence.

Once you do, continue north and you’ll find an inner garden. Just drop below on the course and you’ll find the Screw at the bottom.

    Sector 8

Relatively simple course south of Cafe Action. Just follow the clear path, no need to do anything special.

From the spot you reached for the previous Screw, head up where a bunch of brambles are blocking the way forward.

Burn the brambles and climb up to the Screw.

Easy course north of Pokemon Center. Hardest part will be crossing a lot of bridges.

    Sector 11

    • Glide-only

Use the Holovator on Jaune Street and walk south until you’re face to face with the Screw. Roll Glide and land on the high spot where the purple pokeball is sitting.

    • Glide-only

From the earlier spot, walk south and you’ll find the Screw in the bushes in a corner.

    Sector 9

Easy course. It’s south of City Hall. Start from the south, climb to the roof, and then drop on the platform with the Screw.

From the roof you just reached, walk to the north-east on the next roof. There’s a course on that roof. Get to the top of it and roll onto the long platform that has the Screw at the end.

    • Glide-only

On the rooftop from the previous Screws, walk to the northern part of the plaza and Glide onto the City Hall terrace.

    Sector 6

Relatively simple course south of Jaune Plaza, where you have to perfectly drop on a beam and slow walk to the end to get the Screw. Or run, if you’re confident in your platforming skills.

    • Glide-only

Climb the ladder south of Jaune Plaza and follow the bridge and ladder paths until you reach the southernmost point. Roll Glide onto the building right next to the canal.

    Sector 2

    • Glide-only

At Rank D you’ll gain access to fix the Holovator next to the Justice Dojo in Sector 6. Get up there and walk to the west until you reach the Screw.

If you’re impatient, climb the ladder south-east of Jaune Plaza, cross the bridge to the south, and roll Glide onto the place where the Holovator would have taken you.

Climb the ladder west of Justice Dojo and drop down into the inner garden. The Screw is in a corner.

Btw for Vert screw 7 has been noted incorrectly, you don’t get it via the construction from screw 5, but screw 6.

And it’s confirmed there are 100 screws in total in the game, not 99 like the sum of everything in your list would suggest, as the guy in Racine Construction asks us to check in when you get 23 more after getting the 77 for all the plush trades.

Edit: oop I totally didn’t read the stuff at the top, you already mentioned the 100 screws total

For Vert Sector 2, Screw 4, it says “there’s only one screw in Sector 3”, when it should say “Sector 2”.

I admit this (very minor) typo tripped me up badly, and I was about to look for an entirely different guide after failing to find a ladder in Sector 3, when I just so happened to scroll up a bit to see the header said Sector 2. 😅

Vert Screw 6 also incorrectly states that the purple blobs can be destroyed by any fire move, when you actually need to use any water move. I double-checked just to make sure, and they didn’t go away with either Lava Plume or Fire Blast.

(Unlike rocks, which can be broken with Fighting or Rock moves, the purple blobs seem to exclusively need Water moves for removal.)

I didn’t know you could remove them with Water moves until side mission 82, where you had to use Water Gun on them. Up to that point, I’d been using Confusion on them.

there are only 99 screws in this guide, can you please add the last one, i am having trouble finding it

    ShadowVenusaur

FYI Magenta screw 4 didn’t show up for me until the area became a wild zone. Also Jaune screw 6 doesn’t require glide. There’s a ladder in the alley next to the Pokemon Center you can use.

    Game Alchemist

So, I think I ran into an issue. When looking at the screw located at Blue sector 2, I can’t find the construction site that’s noted because Sector 2 Blue has been merged with Sector 1 to make Zone 5. Am I in trouble? I highly doubt that I’m locked from 100% just because I progressed through the story too much.

    Game Alchemist

So I was a bit too focused on the fact that I was busy doing the Blue sectors that I forgot that I had moved onto Magenta sector.
