Death Stranding was released in November 9, 2018 by KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS and directed by Hideo Kojima – previously known for the Metal Gear Solid series. Death Stranding started when the beach, the world between afterlife and the living world became entangled together resulting in the dead remaining to the living world, making them extremely dangerous since they are invisible to the human eye – Those with DOOMS can see the dead, known as BTs depending on their DOOMS level, Sam Porter Bridges has DOOMS and we find out immediately about that the first time we launch the game, the game asks us to put our Date Of Birth and immediately explains who can get DOOMS.
Will you reconnect the world?
Our protagonist, Sam Porter Bridges (Voice Actor: Norman Reedus) has been tasked to reconnect the UCA which stands for United Cities of America, that task is not gonna be easy and everyone knows that. Sam Porter Bridges however is not alone on his journey, he meets various people who survived the Death Stranding and willing to help him reconnect UCA and perhaps, someday, the world.
Is this game for you?
It’s of course a very unique game, in my opinion – The game’s trailers sure created a lot of questions for the gamers and of course the game itself creates even more whilst answering most of them – The game features a new online experience, global collaboration as Hideo Kojima named it, your structures (Ladders, climbing anchors, bridges etc) can be seen and used by other players. You can also use other players’ structures to help you in your journey as long as you are playing online, but if you rather be somewhat alone in this journey then feel free to play offline, the experience doesn’t change.

- A lot of controls – can be overwhelming for some players
- Difficult to play with a friend – Director’s Cut makes that easier, to find & play with your friend however the original version is a bit tricky.
- Useful features and Quality of Life changes missing from the original version
So, there you go! The game has a lot to offer, a lot of hours to play and have fun especially if you going for 100% completion. You definitely should play Death Stranding, Death Stranding 2 it’s on the way and currently it’s the most anticipating game of 2025!
