Most quests in My Time at Sandrock have a relatively linear progression, as most players will just say yes to any request and will have to build something to finish everything. However, there are some side missions here and there where the player actually has some real choices to make. The problem with these choices is that most of us are afraid to make the wrong one, since we don’t want to lose relationship points with the NPCs. In this guide we will tell you if you should pay Amirah 1k Gols or go to the second option to complete the “Trouble in Paradise” side mission in My Time at Sandrock.
“Trouble in Paradise” Side Mission in My Time at Sandrock Walkthrough
To start the “Trouble in Paradise” mission, players will need to have at least 50 friendship points with Miguel and to have Pablo join Sandrock (when Operation De-Geeglate main mission starts).
You will get this quest the moment you enter the Church of Light and witness Miguel and Matilda fighting about something. After their conversation, you can agree to help Miguel and he will give you 1,000 Gols for the job.
The Exquisite Frame is the first thing you will need to get. This is incredibly easy to craft at this point in the game, as all you need are 4 Copper Screws and 2 Wooden Boards. Once you make the frame, you will get an objective to talk to Pablo.
He won’t accept the commission and will send you to Amirah to complete the painting. This is where most players will likely search for a guide, since they might wonder what the repercussions are for not giving Amirah the money.
Amirah or Jasmine – Choice Repercussions
When you talk to Amirah you will learn that she will require 1,000 Gols to complete the painting for the Church of Light. Considering this is all the money you got for the mission, you will likely want to avoid giving her all of it.
Unfortunately, there is no way to give her less. You either give Amirah 1k Gols or you get Jasmine to make the painting for free. Now, you might be wondering if Miguel will dislike the second choice or not.
If you choose Jasmine to make the painting she will sit down on the floor and make you the commission in a few seconds. After you give it to Miguel, he will just make a funny little comment, stating that he’s “sure Matilda will appreciate it.” You won’t lose any relationship points.
If you choose to pay Amirah the 1k Gols, she will send the mural the next day in mail, along with 500 Gols, saying that she “overcharged.”
So, here is exactly what happens if you choose Amirah or Jasmine:
- Amirah – pay 500 Gols and wait a day
- Jasmine – no payment and instant mural completion
Since there is no negative repercussion from getting the mural from Jasmine, we recommend getting the painting from her for the “Trouble in Paradise” side mission in My Time at Sandrock.

When you talk to Miguel again, you will teleport back to the Church and look at the beautiful mural on the wall. Here are the right answer you can give Miguel during the conversation to get some extra friendship points:
- You seem suited to Minister. (+2 Relationship)
- It sounds like you wanted what was best for them. (+1 Relationship)
