My Time at Sandrock Take a Hint Quest Walkthrough – Best Choices

Want to see Raider King content first? Add us as a preferred source.

My Time at Sandrock has a relatively straightforward story with not a lot that the player can change. However, there are a couple of moments here and there where you can talk with the characters and influence various dialogues. One of these dialogues is the one between Owen and Grace, where you have to lie to Grace to convince her that Mi-an’s work was cheap and that Grace doesn’t have to lose a part of her salary. However, most players will just go with the flow and will end up failing this quest. In this guide we will walk you through the “Take a Hint!” side mission in My Time at Sandrock and show you exactly what choices to make to get the right resolution.

“Take a Hint!” Quest Walkthrough in My Time at Sandrock

The “Take a Hint!” side mission in My Time at Sandrock starts when you find Yan and Owen fighting about the extra fees that Owen has to pay for overnight repairs Mi-an did in the Blue Moon Saloon.

You will then head into the kitchen with Owen to talk to Grace and the choices will start, where she will test to see if you are telling the truth or not. The “Take a Hint!” side quest in My Time at Sandrock has three possible resolutions:

  • You lie successfully (normal quest rewards).
  • You tell the truth (normal quest rewards, +10 relationship with Grace).
  • You lie and Grace figures it out (quest failed, no rewards).

Lying Successfully

Here are the exact choices you need to take to lie successfully and finish the “Take a Hint!” side mission exactly how Owen wants you do to it in My Time at Sandrock:

  1. [Your Name].
  2. Highwind.
  3. It was cheap.
  4. Yep, normal. I could do it too!
  5. Yeah, just a little more than usual.
  6. I don’t really know… / No flippin’ way.

Once you answer the questions with these answers, Grace won’t have to lose any of her wages and you will get the following rewards:

  • Experience +400 (+level modifier)
  • Workshop Reputation +20
  • Owen Relationship +20
  • Grace Relationship +15

Telling the Truth

The best resolution for the player in this side quest is to tell the truth. You get the same rewards as you would for lying successfully, plus extra relationship with Grace. Though Grace has to suffer from this resolution, there won’t be any long term repercussions.

Here are the answers you have to give in the “Take a Hint!” side mission to get the best rewards in My Time at Sandrock:

  1. [Your Name].
  2. Highwind.
  3. It was really expensive.
  4. Mi-an only spent one night on this? That’s amazing! / There’s no way I could be that fast…
  5. We charge out the wazoo!
  6. No flippin’ way.

If you give these answers, Owen and Grace will allow you to choose which one of them will pay the reparations and it won’t matter what you choose. It is more of a flavor choice, just for you to feel like you’ve helped.

These are the rewards you get for telling the truth in this side quest:

  • Experience +400 (+level modifier)
  • Workshop Reputation +20
  • Owen Relationship +20
  • Grace Relationship +25

And that is all you need to know about the best choices for the “Take a Hint!” side mission in My Time at Sandrock. Check out other interesting My Time at Sandrock guides and articles:
