Before release, Marvel and Arc System Works revealed twenty different playable characters in the roster of Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls. What they didn’t reveal however was that there was actually a twenty first playable character, as the game’s main villain The Champion is a fully playable character. However, he will not be unlocked when starting the game and will instead require the player to play through the game’s other modes and get used to the game’s mechanics to unlock. If you are curious as to how to quickly play as him, here is a guide on how to unlock The Champion in Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls
How to Unlock the Champion in Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls

To unlock The Champion, players will need to play through the game’s Episode Mode, and more specifically beat the Fighting Avengers team’s Episode. This mode is the Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls equivalent to a story mode as the player will play through several fights which are introduced via comic-book styled cutscenes.
The Fighting Avengers episode contains eleven fights and shouldn’t take most players more than two hours to complete. The story will have you play several solo battles as each character in your team before being able to play as all four of them and a small boss fight against The Promoter.
The last three battles of the Episode will be against The Champion himself, he is quite a difficult fight as he can summon duplicates of himself and knock out a character’s entire health bar in seconds if you aren’t careful.
Defeat him all three times and you’ll be able to play as him in any of the game’s modes. The Champion is a big bruiser/Grappler character who is perfect for people who want to deal extreme damage to opponents with only a few combos (Though his combos are pretty hard to pull off.)
