Guilty Gear -Strive- Adds Elphelt Valentine and New Mode

Guilty Gear -Strive- Adds Elphelt Valentine and New Mode

On December 6, 2023, video game developer Arc System Works told fans of their incredibly popular Guilty Gear franchise to keep their eyes on the upcoming Game Awards stream as they would be revealing the next DLC character for Guilty Gear -Strive- during the show.

However, due to what appears to be a mistake, the page for Guilty Gear -Strive- on Bandai Namco’s South East Asia site has already created a new post revealing who the next DLC character will be: Elphelt Valentine.

The webpage had an embedded video which would presumably lead to Elphelt Valentine’s reveal and gameplay trailer. However, the video is currently private as the trailer is not meant to debut until after the Game Awards premiere.

Elphelt Valentine made her Guilty Gear debut in the previous game, Guilty Gear Xrd. In that game, she was a versatile stance character who excelled at pressuring characters at close range with a variety of moves. It’s currently not clear if -Strive- will be changing how she plays.

Elphelt Valentine fans were originally disappointed she was cut from the roster when -Strive- was released, but will now thankfully get to play as her once again thanks to the game’s season 3 DLC pass.

In addition to adding Elphelt Valentine, future updates for Guilty Gear -Strive- will be adding new special moves for the roster’s current characters as well as another entirely new game mode: a Six-player online versus mode!

This new mode for the game will have six players split into teams of three to fight each other all at once. The exact details of the mode are currently vague, with more info to be revealed at a later date.

Guilty Gear -Strive- is currently available to purchase on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X, and on PC via Steam.
