Players of miHoYo’s Genshin Impact have been waiting for the upcoming version 4.6 update for the game. Many excited players have naturally turned to leakers and data miners of the game to figure out what to expect from the update.
One leaker known as “IMPACT MOUSE” has been going viral as of late with information about the patch, such as the detail Dottore burning Irminsul will be an actual plot point and not just a cinematic trailer moment like miHoYo is known to do.
Among information about the contents of the patch, Impact Mouse also began to give information about the internal affairs of MiHoYo and how they have been treating Genshin Impact as of late.
According to this leaker, Genshin Impact is not MiHoYo’s priority compared to titles like Honkai Star Rail. While this may come as a shock to some as Genshin was the title that launched MiHoYo into the mainstream, it must be noted that Honkai was always their main franchise.
Across all of social media though, most Genshin fans have expressed anything but surprise at this news. As many of them have felt for months now the game and fanbase have been neglected by the devs compared to how well its sister title has been treated.
Other information revealed by Impact Mouse claims that the plot of Genshin Impact is about 1/3rd of the way done and that the developers are considering creating a Genshin 2 when the story has reached the climax.
One dire bit of plot information in this leak also states that the writing staff of Genshin Impact has changed several times at this point and many future plot details have been disregarded or changed. However, because the game’s plot is allegedly written two years in advance it is unlikely that players will notice this for a long time.
As these are merely leaks and we have no way of officially verifying any of this with MiHoYo’s staff themselves, it is advised that readers take this with a grain of salt. If they are true though, it only adds a whole new layer to the fandom meme of “Genshin could never”
