Every Fire Emblem game needs a loser thief that the player beats up in the first chapter, but usually those thieves are never seen again after their defeat. Zarcone in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave is an exception to this rule as he is more than happy to join the player’s party if it means he gets to continue competing in the Heroic Games. How to Recruit Zarcone in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave
Every unit’s recruitment requirements varies depending on your route in order to make sure you don’t rely on the same party for all characters. Some protagonists will be able to recruit Zarcone incredibly early while others will need to wait until quite late into their route to get him.

As you can see above, Theodora and Leda can recruit Zarcone quite early in their routes while Cai and Dietrich will need to wait much longer to get him. To raise Zarcone’s support level, give him alcoholic gifts as one of him main likes is drinking with friends (Too bad you’re his only one).
After reaching his Renown and Support requirement, Zarcone will ask you for a gigantic fee of 10,000 Gold to recruit him. Luckily, he is much more desperate to join your party than he claims he is. Refuse to pay him 10,000 Gold and he’ll give you a counter offer of 1,000 Gold.
Still, 1,000 Gold seems like quite the hefty price for someone who lost the Heroic Games in literally the first preliminary match. So what happens if we Refuse to pay him 1,000 Gold? Why he’ll get even more desperate of course and give us another counter-offer to hire him for only 100 Gold!
This is as low as we can haggle him down to, so just Pay 100 Gold and you’ll have gotten a new party member for a price cheaper than the gifts you were giving him for Support points.
Zarcone’s use as a party member sadly isn’t much to write home about. His personal skill gives him +10 hit when wielding an axe, which is next to nothing compared to the crazy skills that most other characters in the game have.
