Many famous faces have come to visit Dagison and either participate in or spectate the gladiator games in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave. Among these faces is Peppe, the fun loving king of Brigid. Unfortunately, despite his support and renown requirements being relatively low compared to other characters, you may not be able to recruit him for some time due to his recruitment requirement showing “???” for most of the game. If you’re curious about what this means, then please feel free to consult this walkthrough on how to recruit Peppe in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave.

How to Recruit Peppe in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave

Every unit’s recruitment requirements varies depending on your route in order to make sure you don’t rely on the same party for all characters. However, due to the way his recruitment is structured, Peppe will become available at the same point in time three of the four routes.

RouteSupport RequirementRenown RequirementSpecial Requirement
Cai19Clear Bertrand’s Paralogue
LedaN/AN/AN/A
Theodora27Clear Bertrand’s Paralogue
Dietrich38Clear Bertrand’s Paralogue

As you can likely tell, the Paralogue requirement here is a bigger deterrent for recruiting Peppe than any other factor like Support or Renown. Bertrand’s Paralogue is available in the tenth chapter of most stories, but is not available at all in Leda’s story due to her route being about trying to kill Bertrand, meaning that Peppe is not available in her story.

The time period where this Paralogue is available is incredibly short. The quest will first become available upon speaking to Gabriel in front of the Arena on 9/17 and the quest will expire on 9/25. The window for completion is even shorter on Dietrich’s route as he can only do this quest on 9/17 and not a day later.

After accepting the Paralogue quest, speak to Gabriel again and you’ll be thrown into an arena match against Peppe where Bertrand will join your party as a temporary guest character.

This brief side chapter will see you fight alongside Bertrand as you and your party must slay four giants before Peppe’s team can. Each team can make giants invincible to the other party for one turn using bait, but your party will only have access to 3 of these so use them wisely.

My advice for this battle is to fight normally until a second giant appears in the eastern part of the arena. Once it does, send a pegasus knight over there and spend three turns in a row using bait on the giant. Assuming that you were able to slay two giants before this third one appeared, you should be able to stall Peppe’s party long enough for you to clear out your third and fourth giants before they can even reach the final one.

After completing Bertrand’s Paralogue, all you’ll have to do to recruit Peppe is reach his support and Renown requirement, then speak to him. He’ll join your party without any further fuss. His personal skill is an incredible one which will give him a 30% of attacking first during enemy phases, making him an incredible front-line unit.
