Mini Medals are a recurring collectible in Dragon Quest games that is needed if you want all achievements and a bunch of useful items for your quest. Since this franchise likes to scatter at least 100 of these in all of their games, I decided to quickly bundle up a list of all of the Mini Medals locations in Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined the moment I realized they didn’t place them in the same locations as the original game.

All Mini Medals Locations
All of these medals are ordered in chronological order based on how you’re most likely to find them. So go through each one based on where you are in the game. If you already went through the game and are missing some, you can go to the Info part of the menu and down to the Medal Album where you’ll see which medals you got and which ones you’re missing.
If a medal says “???” then you haven’t been in that region yet. If you have, you’ll see something written there. Use that hint to find the medal in this guide.
Mini Medal #1 – (Present) Estard Castle
Look inside a drawer in the King’s chamber on Level 2. You can reach this location by going down the northeastern stairs on Level 3.
Mini Medal #2 – (Past) The Tower
Inside The Tower in the Ballymolloy region, on Level 6 where you’re forced to go to finish the mission, go down instead of up toward the staircase that leads to the boss battle. There’s a chest with the Mini Medal inside.
Mini Medal #3 – (Present) Ballymolloy
The moment you enter the present day Ballymolloy, go right behind the church (which is now fixed). Break the pot and you’ll get the medal.
Mini Medal #4 – (Present) Estard Castle
After going into the lower levels of the castle and meeting the second person that was hiding a tablet, you’ll take a raft to the west side of the courtyard. Go to the south and you’ll find some barrels next to the castle entrance. Break them to get a medal.
Mini Medal #5 – (Past) Burnmont
On Level 5, after the angel statue, you’ll start dropping down the crater. Drop down until you hit Level 3. Look around the southern corner for a chest. Crack it open and the Mini Medal’s all yours.
Mini Medal #6 – (Present) Emberdale
Pop into the Emberdale Inn and snoop around the back room. There’s a closet with a medal hiding in there.
Mini Medal #7 – (Present) Burnmont
Time to revisit Burnmont and take another plunge down that crater, but go all the way to Level 1 this time. You can now jump right from the Summit. The chest on the west side has your medal. The other chests? Still locked up tight. We’ll be back later.
Mini Medal #8 – (Past) Regenstein
This one’s an optional island you can unlock by getting the Grey Fragment in (Present) Burnmont. Once you wrap up the plotline, head to Felix’s Secret Base. The chest on the left down there has the medal you’re after.
Mini Medal #9 – (Present) Unnamed Island
After you’re done with Regenstein, sail south of Pilchard Bay to find a tiny Unnamed Isle. The medal’s just sitting there as a sparkly thing where Regenstein used to stand.
Mini Medal #10 – (Past) L’Arca
Right when you walk into L’Arca, get into the first house on your right. Check the wardrobe and boom, medal acquired.
Mini Medal #11 – (Past) Grotta del Sigillo
While you’re working your way through this dungeon, you’ll spot an outside exit on Level 4. Ignore that for now and take the northern stairs up to Level 5 instead. There’s a chest waiting for you up there with the medal inside.
Mini Medal #12 – (Present) Dock
Head to the new Dock location that’s appeared north of the L’Arca village. Walk over to the wharf area and smash the barrel on the left to get this medal.
Mini Medal #13 – (Present) Grotta del Sigillo
Climb to the top of this place again until you reach the outside section of the Top Level. Instead of going into the boss tomb cave, keep climbing up to the top, into Level 5. You’ll find a chest with the medal.
Mini Medal #14 – (Present) Institute of Automatry
When you make it to the (Present) Frobisher Region, swing by the Institute during the main quest and start breaking pots in the storeroom. One on the left column in the back’s got your medal.
Mini Medal #15 – (Present) Frobisher
Go to the village garrison and enter through the northeast section. Break the barrel on the right and you’ll find the medal.
Mini Medal #16 – (Present) Automaton Stronghold
Enter the Automaton Stronghold and break the upper urn on the left. The second one is… a little bit more dangerous.
Mini Medal #17 – (Present) Pool of Piety
Cross the eastern bridge in the region to reach the new Pool of Piety location. Near a tree on the north side, you’ll spot the medal just sparkling on the ground.
Mini Medal #18 – (Past) Roamer Encampment
Walk to the southeast in the camp and approach a old lady giving away Spirit of the Dance, standing on a blue carpet. Break the urn next to her.
Mini Medal #19 – (Past) Poolside Cave
On Underground Level 1, slip down one of the holes and you’ll reach Underground Level 2 (there’s also a set of stairs to the south). You should fall right next to a sparkling spot that hides the medal.
Mini Medal #20 – (Present) Dig Site
Sail to where the Roamer Encampment used to be and find the Dig Site north of the passage. Pay to get in the tent, exit to the left, climb down the well, and check the closet on the left for the medal.
Mini Medal #21 – (Present) Roamer Encampment Region
There’s a tiny island near the Cape Overlooking the Ocean. If you Zoom to the cape, your ship spawns right next to it.
Mini Medal #22 – (Past) Pilgrim’s Rest
Enter the first village to the east when you teleport to Alltrades Abbey Region. Go behind the building to the northwest and destroy the barrel on the corner.
Mini Medal #23 – (Past) Pilgrim’s Perdition
Climb up to the roof of the southernmost house and smash the urn on top.
Mini Medal #24 – (Past) Western Cave
When you get to Level 2, make your way to the chest that’s right next to the staircase you came up on.
Mini Medal #25 – (Past) Precipice Pass
Right after exiting the Western Cave, go west immediately. The medal’s just sparkling there on the ground next to the graves.
Mini Medal #26 – (Past) Dungeon of Descent
Head south on Underground Level 2 until you reach the first room in the center of the map where monsters are sitting at a table, right to the west of a chest room. There’s a pot in there with the medal.
Mini Medal #27 – (Past) Tunnel to the Abbey
On Underground Level 2 there’s a room with a different floor pattern full of urns. The one with the medal is in the upper right part of the room.
Mini Medal #28 – (Past) Alltrades Abbey
After finishing the plot, hit the Basement Level 1 where all doors are now open. Go through the west door, exit the other side, and brave that annoying lightning floor to reach the chest with your medal.
Thief’s Key Medals (#29-31)
These are going to be a bunch of chests you couldn’t open before that we can now get back to.
Mini Medal #29 – (Past) Pilgrim’s Perdition
Zoom back here and enter the northern house to grab the Thief’s Key from the chest. Now get out and open the chest southwest of the church for this medal.
Mini Medal #30 – (Present) Pilchard Bay
Go back home and enter the item shop building. That locked chest in the back can finally be opened.
Mini Medal #31 – (Present) Pilgrim’s Rest
Head to Pilgrim’s Rest and stop by the inn. There’s a locked chest that your Thief’s Key can now open behind the big royal bed, inside the inn, in the northwest corner room.
Mini Medal #32 – (Present) Ruins Near Alltrades Abbey
Check out the ruins near the abbey where Pilgrim’s Perdition used to be. The medal’s on the ground next to a tree on the west side.
Mini Medal #33 – (Present) Bandits’ Base
Go to the Bandit’s Base where the cave used to be. Find the locked cell with two chests, grab the Bandit’s Key from the boss’s room closet, then open the cell to get the medal from the chest on the right.
Mini Medal #34 – (Present) La Bravoure
A new island has appeared south of Frobisher. Go to the only village there, enter the pub to the southeast, and start the quest. Go to the house in the northwest and follow Honoré to the Treasure House. The chest on the left there has what you need.
Mini Medal #35 – (Past) Al-Balad
After you finish the whole plot in (Past) Al-Balad, the Elder lets you raid the storeroom and get past the locked gate in there. Next to the Blue Fragment, there’s an urn with the medal inside.
Mini Medal #36 – (Present) Dig Site
Before leaving Al-Balad, talk to Doug Digby near the exit to get a Care Package. Take it to the Dig Site (Roamer Encampment Region), enter the tent, exit the other side, and give it to the big dude. He’ll move so you can break urns and find the medal. It’s to the west, on one of the lower levels, next to a long wooden ramp.
Mini Medal #37 – (Present) Temple Palace
Once you can move, go outside and head north and smash the urn on the right behind the building.
Mini Medal #38 – (Present) Roamer Encampment
After delivering King Donald’s letter, head to the Roamer Encampment. Near a tree in the northwest, there’s an urn on the left next to two others with a medal hiding in it, north of the tent there.
Mini Medal #39 – (Past) Temple Palace
After the Roamer Encampment events, return to (Past) Temple Palace. Talk to the Queen outside about a hidden chamber, then go to her room and push the right statue to reveal a set of stairs. Go down and grab the medal from the righthand chest.
Mini Medal #40 – (Past) Likeness of the Great Evil
In the Al-Balad Region, head to the Banks of the Nihil, talk to Hadid to get a raft up to the Upper Reaches, then access the Likeness of the Great Evil. The lone chest to the northeast is the one you’re looking for.
Mini Medal #41 – (Past) Wetlock
In Wetlock, go behind the northwest house, find the stairs, hop on the raft. Navigate east into the Waterway and find an urn with the medal.
Mini Medal #42 – (Past) Hardlypool Region
Get out of Highendreigh Tower (or Zoom there). There’s a golden glint to the southwest, just pick it up.
Mini Medal #43 – (Past) Wetlock
In Wetlock, after finishing up at Highendreigh Tower, you’ll have to grab a chest in the Treasure Room, under the Pub. While you’re there, smash the urn on the right for the medal.
Mini Medal #44 – (Present) Highendreigh Tower
Climb the tower, get to Level 5, and destroy the urn in the northeast corner.
You can now get the Flying Carpet from La Bravoure
Mini Medal #45 – (Present) La Bravoure
Show the Mermaid Moon to Colette in La Bravoure and you’ll be taken to a cellar behind the church. The medal’s in the chest to the right.
Mini Medal #46 – (Present) Tombe de Héros Inconnus
Leave La Bravoure, hop on the Flying Carpet, fly east to the Tombe de Héros Inconnus in the same region. There’s an urn in the back with the medal inside.
Mini Medal #47 – (Present) Estard
Return to Estard and go to the second floor of the northern house next to the path to the castle. Open the chest for another mini medal.
Mini Medal #48 – (Present) Palazzo di Bulgio
Zoom to L’Arca, get on your carpet, fly north to find the Palazzo. Go to the top floor (Floor 3) to get the Magic Key, then grab the medal from the chest in the southern part of Level 2.
Mini Medal #49 – (Present) Dig Site
Zoom to the Dig Site in Roamer Encampment Region, walk into the tent, and open the chest.
Mini Medal #50 – (Present) Likeness of the Great Spirit
Head to Al-Balad Region and carpet over to the Likeness of the Great Spirit on the west side. Enter the place, climb the stairs all the way to Level 4 and walk outside. Grab the medal on the left staircase.
Mini Medal #51 – (Present) The Tallest Tower
While climbing the tower, open the chest in the center area of Level 3.
Mini Medal #52 – (Present) The Tallest Tower
Keep climbing until you reach Level 9. Take the west stairs back down to Level 7. The medal’s in the chest south of the downward-leading staircase.
Mini Medal #53 – (Present) Ruins West of Wilted Heart
Finish the first part of the Greenthumb Gardens stuff, then head to the new island west of Emberdale (the Wilted Heart Region). Walk west to find ruins with an urn in the western side of the area, next to the fence, containing the medal.
Mini Medal #54 – (Past) Cave Near Wilted Heart
In the Wilted Heart Region, climb the mountain by the village to reach Regrette-Rien Convent. Check the tombstones to start the second part of this quest. Go back to the Shrine of Mysteries, teleport to Greenthumb Gardens, then find the cave to the north on the Mountain Path behind Wilted Heart village for the medal.
Mini Medal #55 – (Past) Rucker Castle
Head to Rucker Castle in the Hubble Region and climb down the well to grab the medal.
Mini Medal #56 – (Present) Grand Conjuratorium
In Grand Conjuratorium there’s an staircase in a square structure. To access it, “make a cross”: enter west, exit east, enter north, exit south. A bridge appears when you step out south. Go down the stairs and grab the medal from the southern chest.
Mini Medal #57-61 – (Present) Vogograd
Go to the graveyard next to the church and check the westernmost grave twice (should be a Medal Detector’s grave).
Mini Medal #62 – (Past) Aeolus Vale
As you near the east side, instead of leaving, approach the building’s edge to get a jump prompt. Jump down to two barrels, the one on the right has the medal.
Mini Medal #63 – (Past) Well
Stop by the Custodians’ Camp on your way to the Sanctum. Check the well and climb down. The medal’s in the closet on the left.
Mini Medal #64 – (Past) The Beacon
Exit south on Level 3 to find a chest with the medal outside.
Mini Medal #65 – (Present) Buccanham Palace
You already moved a bookshelf in (Past) Buccanham Palace. In the present, go to the eastern house and interact with the sideways bookshelf to find a button. This opens the path to the chest outside.
Mini Medal #66 – (Present) Den of the Dwarves
Go back to Level 3 and the medal’s now sitting in the spot where the Glowmoss was.
Mini Medal #67 – (Past) Altar of Arrival
Go underneath the structure to find the medal on the floor.
Mini Medal #68 – (Present) Hardlypool Region
Head to the Strange Shrine. Before going in, check southeast area for the medal.
Mini Medal #69 – (Present) Dig Site
Go deeper into the Dig Site until you reach Underground Level 3. Take the teleporter to find a chest with the medal.
Ultimate Key Medals #70-74
After getting the Ultimate Key, we’re gonna go back to open all of the locked chests left.
Mini Medal #70 – (Present) Cathedral of Light
On Basement Level 1, you’ll find the Ultimate Key. Before leaving, open the southern cell and break the urn for the medal.
Mini Medal #71 – (Present) Dungeon
Go to Estard Castle, head to the boathouse where you first got the raft, and circle the moat to enter the dungeon. The medal’s in an urn inside the cell with the man inside.
Mini Medal #72 – (Present) Treasure Room
This one’s in a chest in the treasure room. It’s down a staircase behind the first one south of the dining room.
Mini Medal #73 – (Present) House
In Pilchard Bay, inside the house right next to yours, go downstairs and open the chest.
Mini Medal #74 – (Present) Throne Room
Inside the southern chest in the Buccanham Palace‘s throne room. Both chests are on the eastern side next to the thrones.
Mini Medal #75 – (Present) The Beacon
Check the northern spot on the top level for this sparkling medal.
Mini Medal #76 – (Present) Gaffer’s House
In Emberdale, grab the chest on the second floor.
Mini Medal #77 – (Present) Burnmont
On Level 1 open the chests on the right next to the statue.
Mini Medal #78 – (Present) Below Decks
Take east staircase on deck of The Sea Dragon to go below. In the southernmost part, there’s a cat munching on fish on top of a shield. Poke the cat to get the medal.
Mini Medal #79 – (Present) Elder’s House
There’s a chest in Al-Balad‘s Elder’s house on the left.
Mini Medal #80 – (Present) Temple Palace
After talking to Queen Neferta, go through the door behind her and open the right chest for the medal.
Mini Medal #81 – (Present) Hidden Pyramid
When you reach the Basement Level 1, open the chest in the northeast corner.
Mini Medal #82 – (Present) Praetor’s House
In Aeolus Vale, check the closet on the right, behind the Praetor for another medal.
Mini Medal #83 – (Present) Ventus Tower
You’ll find on Level 5 two staircases going up. Take the eastern one to find a chest with the medal.
Mini Medal #84 – (Present) Church
Find the church in Villa Priores, then go upstairs and destroy an urn.
Mini Medal #85 – (Present) King Scoober’s Domain
There’s a whirlpool to the southeast of Estard Island. Sail into it to teleport to King Scoober’s Domain. Head down the stairs and break urns until you find the medal.
Mini Medal #86 – (Present) Sunken Citadel
Open the left chest beside Gracos for the medal.
Mini Medal #87 – Dungeon
Head to Hubble Castle, enter the Earth Tower, and descend all the way to the dungeon. Open the cells and start smashing urns in the right cell.
Mini Medal #88 – (Past) Nottagen Cavern
Progress through the Nottagen substory until you come back a second time to the past. You’ll see monster vines attacking the village. Head to Nottagen Cavern and pick the chest in the western part of Underground Level 3.
Mini Medal #89 – (Present) Nottagen
Check behind the tree left of the mansion for the medal.
Mini Medal #90 – (Present) Wooded Hill
Interact with the big hole for the medal.
Mini Medal #91 – (Past) Exposure Enclosure
Break the barrel in the northwestern part of the area for the medal.
Mini Medal #92 – (Present) Cathedral of Blight
When you hit Level 6, exit south and the medal’s on the floor outside, next to the first structure column.
Mini Medal #93 – (Present) Hellfire Hollow
Still in Cathedral of Blight, the southern chest in the Hellfire Hollow has your medal.
Mini Medal #94 – (Present) Chasm of Chaos
Last one in Cathedral of Blight. This medal’s in the southeast chest. Pro tip: finish the Wind dungeon first to see all the bridges here.
Post Game Medals #95-100
Mini Medal #95 – (Present) Another World
You’ll know you’ve reached the area when you’re outside again. Keep going until you spot a shiny spot next to a fishing spot. That’s your medal.
Mini Medal #96 – (Present) Another World
From the fishing spot, enter the nearest entrance into Level 3. Climb all the way north to the last room and check the closet for the medal.
Mini Medal #97 – (Present) Shrine
After defeating the boss, grab the medal from the chair.
Mini Medal #98 – (Present) Interior
We’re now in Yet Another World. In the dungeon inside the well, interact with the northwest lever to open doors in Fake Estard. Behind those doors is the Fire Spirit dungeon replica with another lever that opens more doors. Back in the city, those doors lead to the Water Spirit dungeon. The medal’s in the northern chest there.
Mini Medal #99 – (Present) Interior
If you’ve been messing with all the levers, the Item Shop door opens to another dungeon. Take the southeastern stairs up, walk across the moving platforms, and jump down into the middle of the southwest platform to fall into a cell with a chest containing the medal.
Mini Medal #100 – (Present) House of the Big Boss
After pressing every plate, a new portal opens in the house on the docks. Go through, fight four bosses, and reach the House of the Big Boss. Behind him are two urns, the one on the right has the final medal. Done!
