When booting up the local or online versus modes of the newly released The Last Airbender fighting game, Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game, players will immediately notice that only ten of the game’s twelve characters are unlocked from the get-go. Two of the game’s characters, Avatar Aang and Nightmare Korra, must be manually unlocked. While the game doesn’t directly tell you how to unlock them, it’s easy enough to figure out due to the lack of modes. If you are curious about how to unlock these two hidden characters so you can rush to beat up children online with them, here is a quick guide on how to unlock Avatar Aang and Nightmare Korra in Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game.

How to Unlock Avatar Aang and Nightmare Korra in Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game

In order to unlock Avatar Aang and Nightmare Korra, the player will need to play through the game’s story mode. Thankfully, if you aren’t too interested in the story, you won’t need to play through all twenty five chapters of the story, as both characters will unlock at different points before then.

How to Unlock Nightmare Korra

To unlock Nightmare Korra, the player will need to progress through the story until they reach the first battle of Chapter 6. During this battle, they’ll have to fight against Korra as her nightmare form. Winning this fight will automatically unlock Nightmare Korra.

Unfortunately, Nightmare Korra is almost a complete clone of normal Korra, sharing the same attacks and only being differentiated via the look of his sprite, her idle animation, and the different passive buffs that you can select before beginning a battle.

How to Unlock Avatar Aang

If you want to unlock Avatar Aang, you’ll need to progress a bit further into the story. Once you reach the first battle of chapter 11, you’ll have to fight against Aang as his Avatar State form in the spirit world. Winning this battle will automatically unlock Avatar Aang for use in any of the game’s modes.

Unlike Nightmare Korra, Avatar Aang is a completely different character from normal Aang with his own moveset and everything. He can be quite difficult to get a hang of as many of his attacks will send him flying into the air mid-combo.

Cheat Code to Unlock Characters Immediately

Shockingly, it turns out that there is also a cheat code to unlock both characters immediately. To do this, the player will need to hit the select button while highlighting specific options on the menu in this order

  1. Arcade Mode
  2. Training Mode
  3. Local VS
  4. Online VS

Once you have successfully inputted the code, a sound effect with play and both characters will be automatically unlocked.
