Since 7 Days to Die is a survival game, you might think that the most obvious way to get water is to just use any bottle or jar and put it inside a lake or even a puddle. Unfortunately, the developers have made sure that you can’t do something so easy to get the most vital survival resources in the real world. So, in this guide, we will show you how to collect drinking water in 7 Days to Die.
How to Collect Water in 7 Days to Die
There are two ways to collect water from nothing in 7 Days to Die:
- Find lootable bottles with Murky Water inside them
- Build a Dew Collector at your base
Murky Water
You can occasionally find Murky Water while looting houses (especially kitchens) in the game. You can drink this contaminated water with a risk of getting Dysentery and losing some health.
On the other hand, you can head back home and cook it to get pure water. The only problem with this method is that it’s extremely inefficient and generally just a waste of time. This is why you’ll need to build a Dew Collector.
Dew Collector
Once you get a level 2 Workbench, you can craft the Dew Collector to “produce” water passively.
You will need a Water Filter (generally bought from a trader), Scrap Polymer, Duct Tape, and Short Iron Pipes. Once it’s built, you will have a constant source of water.
