Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave is a game with no shortage of healer units. Most of the game’s routes give the player at least one by default and there are multiple others that you can recruit throughout the game. Ultand falls into both of these categories, as not only does she automatically join Cai’s party during the story but she can also be recruited by most other characters with little to no effort. How to Recruit Ultand in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave
Every unit’s recruitment requirements varies depending on your route in order to make sure you don’t rely on the same party for all characters. Some protagonists can get Ultand relatively early while others will need to wait quite a while to get her. Here are her recruitment requirements across all four routes.

Dietrich and Theordora will be able to scout Ultand away from Cai’s party early on in their routes while Leda will need to wait quite a while to get her, though Leda’s party is in no dire need for another healer as she already gets two of them by default.
Once you have reached the appropriate Support and Renown Requirement, Ultand will give you a short side quest called “Ultand’s Request” that you must complete before he’ll join you. This quest will consist of Ultand asking you to find a gift from her mother that has been stolen by thieves.
The gift has been brought to Corroios Fort Ruins, a dungeon located to the northwest of Dagison and just slightly past the region of the map that Cai could visit during his route, explaining why she didn’t just ask him to find it for her. The item you’re looking for will be a glowing collection spot in the dungeon, rather than being inside of any treasure chests or dropped by enemies.
After collecting her Mother’s Gift, return to Ultand and she’ll join your party! Ultand’s sadly not one of the best units in the game but her personal skill will automatically restore a small amount of health to units adjacent to her, making her a semi-good unit for maps where you’ll be moving units through tight corridors in Parts 2 and 3.
