Anatolia’s group in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave sadly has the least amount of screen time amongst the Flame Lord groups. Which is doubly a shame as each member of her group is an incredibly useful unit with some of the craziest Personal Skills in the game. You’ll want to snatch up these characters as soon as possible if you’re on a recruitment spree, but unfortunately they’ll all come with their own caveats that makes recruiting them a bit difficult. How to Recruit Halvin in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave
Every unit’s recruitment requirements varies depending on your route in order to make sure you don’t rely on the same party for all characters. Some protagonists can get Halvin relatively early while others will need to wait quite a while to get her. Here are her recruitment requirements across all four routes.

You might think that Cai having the lowest Renown requirement means that he can get her earliest, but for once that’s not true. Why? Because of her secondary requirement: Halvin asks for 10 Dates before she will join your party. Dates are one of the game’s many vegetables that grow on the map, but they only grow in a select few areas.
So where can we gather Dates? At the desert in the northwestern corner of the continent of course. Plenty of the gathering nodes here give you Dates, in fact some of the nodes only have Dates. If gathering is too much work for you though, you can also stop by the market at Baina Oasis and buy 10 Dates at once here.
This is great for most of the cast. However, Cai is unfortunately unable to go to the desert in his route as the gates never unlock for him. This prevents him from easily grinding for Dates but that doesn’t completely prevent him from getting them.
If you clear the side quest “Huge, Hairy Beasts” as Cai (It’ll automatically clear and give you the reward as him if you already did it in another Route) near the end of the game, you will be rewarded with two Dates. You can then plant these in empty spaces on the world map as him in order to get some more. It’s a much more roundabout method than the others, but it still allows him to recruit Halvin.
As for Halvin’s role as a party member, she actually has one of the best Personal Skills in the game. After attacking an enemy, she will gain a permanent +2 Hit stat for the rest of the map. This stacks repeatedly throughout the map until she has +30 hit. Considering how low accuracy is the name of the game in Fortune’s Weave, this makes Halvin one of the most valuable units in the game.
