One of the most interesting clans in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave is Orchel’s group of misfits. Because they don’t get as much focus as the game’s main clans their role in the story and relationships remain a mystery for most of the game. Despite that, there’s nothing stopping the player from snatching Orchel’s friends away from her and making them join your party. Once character who players are sure to try and scoop up as soon as possible is the cute and spunky pegasus knight Loretta. If you want this memorable character in your party as soon as possible, please feel free to use this guide on how to recruit Loretta in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave
How to Recruit Loretta in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave

Every unit’s recruitment requirements varies depending on your route in order to make sure you don’t rely on the same party for all characters. Some protagonists can get Loretta relatively early while others will need to wait quite a while to get her. Here are her recruitment requirements across all four routes.
| Route | Support Requirement | Renown Requirement | Special Requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cai | 3 | 7 | Give Loretta three Iron Swords |
| Leda | 3 | 5 | Give Loretta three Iron Swords |
| Theodora | 3 | 5 | Give Loretta three Iron Swords |
| Dietrich | 3 | 9 | Give Loretta three Iron Swords |
Cai, Leda, and Theodora will be able to recruit Loretta right after the preliminary rounds of the gladiator games end while Dietrich won’t be able to recruit her until much further into his route.
As for what gifts you should be giving Loretta, she loves fishing. Gift her fishing rods and hooks alongside bringing her to the theater/feeding her meals and you’ll quickly raise her support level high enough to recruit her.
Unfortunately, you won’t be able to just run to the armory and purchase three Iron Swords as they only stock a single one each time the shop refreshes, you’ll have to either wait multiple free times or gather swords from multiple locations. Luckily, you can easily get three Iron Swords in a single free time despite that limitation. Here is how I quickly got the swords.
- Purchase 1 Iron Sword from the Armory in Dagison
- Trade 10 Linaria for 1 Iron Sword at Vandahl Trading Co. in Dagison
- Purchase 1 Iron Sword from the town of Alecto in the southwest corner of the continent

Once you’ve gathered three different Iron Swords, return to Loretta and give them to her so she’ll leave Orchel’s clan and join up with yours. Her unique skill gives her +10 Avoid when her HP is below 50%, making her very great at avoiding attacks like the other members of Orchel’s clan
