In many ways, Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave is to Fire Emblem: Three Houses what Fire Emblem: Fates was to Fire Emblem: Awakening. That comparison wouldn’t be complete without the game having at least one Fodland local participating in the gladiator games. Out of the entire Fire Emblem: Three Houses roster, Seteth of all people has made a return in this game. After months of people speculating as to why and what role he would perform in the story, you may be shocked to learn that he is merely an optional recruitable character in most routes. Still, if you want a smidgen of Three Houses in your party, then feel free to use this guide on how to Recruit Seteth in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave.

How to Recruit Seteth in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave

Every unit’s recruitment requirements varies depending on your route in order to make sure you don’t rely on the same party for all characters. Some protagonists can get Seteth relatively early while others will need to wait quite a while to get him. Here are his recruitment requirements across all four routes.

RouteSupport RequirementRenown RequirementSpecial Requirement
Cai36Clear the Seteth’s Request side quest
Leda310Clear the Seteth’s Request side quest
Theodora36Clear the Seteth’s Request side quest
DietrichN/AN/AN/A

Cai and Theodora will be able to recruit Seteth around the seventh chapter of their routes while Leda will have to wait until late in her route to obtain him. Dietrich meanwhile cannot recruit him at all for reasons that shall be apparent as you play through his route.

Once you have gotten the appropriate Renown level and raised your Support with Seteth to Lvl 3, he will tell you about how he has made a weapon that has been stolen by bandits. In order to recruit him we’re going to need to hunt down these bandits and bury the weapon with them.

This request, a side quest called Seteth’s Request, has a time limit and must be cleared by 11/27. Considering that the earliest time you can pick up this quest is around the beginning of the sixth month you should have more than enough time to clear it.

The bandits that Seteth wants you to fight can be found on the southern edge of the continent in an area called Mount Ouranos. This skirmish will be against six bandits, with most of them wielding swords. The levels of the bandits will scale depending on the time of the year. If you’re fighting them as early as possible, they’ll be around level 15 or so. If you’ve put off recruiting Seteth for a while, they’ll be a high level.

Regardless of their level, this fight shouldn’t be too hard as there is only a few bandits and none of them will be pulling out any particularly nasty tricks. Just slice through them all and report back to Seteth to finally get this man back into your party.
