Marvel’s Wolverine isn’t a game that frequently asks the player to think about anything other than the best way to tear enemies to pieces. Most puzzles in the game are solved either by following Wolverine’s nose or punching your way through them. That makes the moment in the game’s Japan chapter where the player needs to figure out a door’s keypad password on their own stand out even more. While this isn’t a super complex puzzle, it’s more than what the game has asked of you up until this point. If you are having any difficulty with this puzzle or simply want to get on with the action, here is a quick guide on where to find Shiro’s Keypad Password in Wolverine.
Where to Find Shiro’s Keypad Password in Wolverine
When breaking into Shiro’s Penthouse, you’ll quickly find where you need to go as Wolverine’s nose will guide you right to a keypad with a 4-digit combination. Like all of the other keypads in the game, Wolverine should be able to use his nose to figure out the code for this one, but there’s a problem.
Shiro has changed the code recently, so the smell of his fingers on the old code is interfering with the scent of the new code. For once, Wolverine’s nose is useless.
So if we can’t rely on our nose to figure out the code, what can we do? Well we’ll use our eyes of course! There are quite a few things scattered around Shiro’s penthouse with numbers on them, so one of them must be related to the code.
Make your way over to Shiro’s manga shelf in the nearby room and you’ll spot a series called Unwelcome Chains which is completed unsorted, with the volumes being nowhere close to in order on the shelf. Amongst these unsorted volumes are four in the middle which aren’t even pushed all the way in the shelf. Volume 1, Volume 9, Volume 2, and Volume 4.
That’s the hint we are looking for. Make your way over to the keypad again and input the code: 1924. Once you’ve input the code, the door will open and you’ll be able to progress through the game.
