Ubisoft came up with a pretty cool idea to hide chests underwater at various locations on the map and not give us any in-game “cheats” to find them. Eagle vision doesn’t work and they don’t appear on the map if you get close to them. The only hint? Riddles on the internet, provided weekly by Ubisoft. These community chests are a great addition to the game, but if you’re like me you probably have no idea what these clues actually mean. So, with the help of some smart people online, I’ve managed to create a comprehensive guide showing you the exact location of the three community chests in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced and exactly what you can find in them, so you know if they’re worth your time and effort.
Community Treasure Chest #1
Clue:
“Oh, Dry Tortuga, whose Spanish gold still washes up, Look not the middle, seek not west, Nor where the anchor finds it’s rest, The rising sun shall point the way, To jagged stone and salt sea spray.”

The location of the chest is at the (421,939) coordinates, just off the coast of Florida (the peninsula, not the island). It’s a chest underwater at the exact point shown by the coordinates above, which holds 4,000 Reales. Not the best reward overall but a decent start if you’ve just started your playthrough.
Community Treasure Chest #2
Clue:
“Above this chest contains
Be Cautious, Not Unto ParadiseLook due east, and one point north
A lone mast stands against the storm.Behind it sails a ghostly fleet with no ships at all.
At the end two devilish twins guard the treasure.Tis the distance you’ll travel.”

This underwater chest is located at (500,167), west of Kingston. Once you jump into the water it’s impossible not to see it shining. The reward this time is better, giving Uncrowned Prince (Legendary Rapier) and Guardian Beast Figurehead (Legendary Figurehead).
Community Treasure Chest #3
Clue:
–

The third and final community chest is hidden northeast of Corozal in the Chinchorro region, past the Man O’ War and Frigate protecting the cove. Jump down at (28,293) and swim down to find the final chest, which holds the Explorer Outfit (Rare Outfit) and the Aveline Figurehead (Legendary Figurehead). The Explorer Outfit is actually the closest we’ll get to a real Assassin uniform and the only outfit that seemed to be missing on release day from the old Black Flag.
If you haven’t noticed, the chest has been found before we’ve even gotten the clue, so let’s hope we get some more content like this in the future that is much more entertaining that getting chests we can easily see on the map.
