At EVO Japan 2026, Visual Novel developer Type-Moon and fighting game developer French Bread revealed Melty Blood: Twi-Lumina, the newest release in the Melty Blood franchise. Melty Blood: Twi-Lumina is an expanded port of 2021’s Melty Blood: Type Lumina, which, according to the trailer, promises to have refined battle mechanics and additional characters.
Little is currently known about what changes Melty Blood Twi-Lumina will make to the game’s roster, however the teaser trailer revealed at EVO Japan focused heavily on the character Len.
Len made her debut in the 2001 Tsukihime fan disc sequel Kagetsu Tohya as one of the game’s main heroines. She would later go on to make her Melty Blood debut in 2004’s Melty Blood Re-ACT.
The presence of Len in this trailer seems to serve as early confirmation that Melty Blood Twi-Lumina will be expanding its roster beyond characters who appeared in the 2021 Tsukihime Remake, Tsukihime: A Piece of Blue Glass Moon.
When Melty Blood: Type Lumina was first released, its roster was composed entirely of characters featured in the Tsukihime Remake as a way of tying into that game’s release. While the game would later break away from this design decision with the addition of other Type-Moon character like Mash Kyrielight, characters from Tsukihime and Melty Blood adjacent media like Len and Satsuki were still absent from the roster.

Aside from the addition of Len, the description of the game in the trailer, “A tale of conflict stirs once again within a dream.” also invokes the plot of Kagetsu Tohya, making many fans believe that the game will be centered around that title. At this time however it is too soon to make any definitive claims.
Melty Blood: Twi-Lumina is currently scheduled to release in 2027 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Steam.
