Ys vs Trails in the Sky: Alternative Saga features a large amount of playable characters from both series, but the player will start the game with only a few characters unlocked. If they want to increase their roster from this very small base size, they’ll need to invest a lot of time into playing through the game’s various modes. While it’s easy enough to learn that simple playing the game will unlock characters, it can be quite bothersome that there’s no in-game indicator of how much more you’ll need to grind. Ys vs Trails in the Sky – Character and Stage Unlock Requirements
In order to unlock anything in Ys vs Trails in the Sky: Alternative Saga, the player will need to grind a large amount of BP. BP is earned from winning battles in any of the game’s modes; whether it be story, arcade or even normal VS battles. Earning BP is a very slow process so be prepared to invest a lot of time into this title to unlock the full roster.
Unlockable Characters
Earning enough BP to unlock the entire playable roster is a large grind, but you should be able to get halfway through it by the time you have beaten story mode as every character. Unfortunately the other half of them will require you to play arcade mode multiple times to even get close to unlocking them. Support Character Unlock Requirements
When starting the game you will have access to only a single support character. Getting all of the others is the largest grind in the game as you’ll need to beat story mode and arcade mode multiple times. You won’t be able to repeatedly do it as the same character either, to get all support characters you must beat arcade mode as EVERY character.
