Similar to previous MiHoYo games like Honkai Star Rail, Zenless Zone Zero features a camera function that the player can use to take photographs of whatever they’re looking at, for the purpose of sharing on social media platforms. Features like this have become expected in many video games lately, especially ones with a large focus on urban settings. However, some players have grown confused about how to access this feature as it shockingly isn’t available until several hours of playtime. If you are one of these confused players, here is a guide on how to use the camera in Zenless Zone Zero.

How to Use the Camera in Zenless Zone Zero

When starting a new game in Zenless Zone Zero, the player will be unable to use the camera (as well as most of the game’s features) until they have fully completed all of the tutorial stages several hours into the game.

Upon completing the stage where the player must rescue Nicole and Billy, the player will be granted access to the Quick Menu where they will be able to access features such as the event screen and of course, the camera.

To access this menu in the mobile version of the game, the player must hold the action button which they use to interact with most things. On the PlayStation 5 and PC versions of the game, this menu is opened by holding the L1 button on your controller.

Once in this menu, select the option to the left and you’ll bring out your camera. With this device, you can of course take pictures which can be uploaded directly to social media platforms such as Twitter and Discord.

The camera can only be used in the game’s hub world, it cannot be used to take photos during battle stages. So unfortunately you will be unable to take cool action-shot pictures during combat.

Because it can only be used in the hub-world, the camera in Zenless Zone Zero is much more limited than it was in Honkai Star Rail, you’ll likely be unable to take pictures of most characters in the game unless they show up in the hub briefly for a quest later in the game’s life.

The camera also doesn’t feature a selfie option like the one in Honkai Star Rail, further limiting its use. Despite this, it is a nice feature to see included in a game with this type of modern setting.
