While later games in the Trails franchise would have expansive fishing minigames, Trails in the Sky FC only had a single moment where Estelle took up a rod herself. The remake, Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, remains loyal to this choice and simply has the player make a series of choices that determine which fish they get. Fish can be either sold at any shop for a minor profit or cooked into meals, which permanently increase your entire party’s stats the first time you make them.

Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter – All Fishing Choices
Near the end of the game’s first chapter, the player will visit a location called Valleria Shore and have the option to go fishing.
When fishing, Estelle will have to choose where to fish, what bait to use, and how to react when the fish bites. What fish the player obtains is determined by these choices.
You can only fish a total of 10 times, so try to get at least one of each reward, especially the Leaky Boots, as even if they’re not a good piece of armor, they can only be obtained in this section.
Below we have seperated the choices based on the first choice of where to fish. From there, simply select based on which reward you wish to obtain.
