In management games there’s nothing harder than actually knowing what your characters can and can’t do. In Sovereign Tower the knights have hidden attributes which decide how good or bad they are at, well, questing. And you can discover everything through trial and error, like a normal person, or you can use this guide. Here is every knight in Sovereign Tower, their starting numbers, their quest preferences, and their attributes, plus what all of it actually does.
I ramble a lot about most of the mechanics in game at the start. If you want to skip to the list, you can use the table of contents floating in the upper right part of the screen.

How to read a knight
The six statistics
Every knight is described by six stats, all on a 0-15 scale:

Each quest lists requirements for one or more stats. For every required stat, a knight contributes roughly: (knight’s stat − quest requirement) × 0.66, divided across the party, then scaled slightly by how demanding the requirement was (a hard requirement you beat pays more than an easy one, a hard requirement you miss is punished less harshly than an easy one you miss). Exactly matching a requirement gives a tiny positive (+0.22 base) rather than zero.
Score thresholds: +10 critical success, +5 great success, 0 success, -5 major failure, -10 critical failure. Great and critical successes multiply rewards by 1.5× and 2× respectively.
Final stat value used in scoring is always clamped to 0-15, including equipment bonuses.
Level and XP
Knights start at their listed starting level and cap at level 15. Each level-up lets you spend one point in any stat that isn’t already at 15. XP thresholds:

XP comes from quest outcomes (a failure gives nothing, a bare success 1×, great success 1.5×, critical success 2×) and from sending a knight to the Training Ground for a cycle instead of on a quest.
Affinity
Affinity runs from -10 to +10 and every knight starts at 0. It goes up when you assign quests they like, feed them a favorite meal (+1.5), and make choices matching their liked sovereign archetype. It goes down for disliked quests and conditions.
If affinity drops to the knight’s demission threshold (-7 for almost everyone), they queue a resignation audience and walk out. Two knights are exempt: Alwena and Ari have a threshold of -1500, i.e. they never resign.
Affinity also gates free-time conversations, which are how you unlock most of a knight’s story.
Meals
Each knight has favorite dishes. Feeding a knight a liked meal gives +1.5 affinity and a small +0.5 quest score bonus, and permanently records that you know their taste. The only six dishes are Galette-Saucisse, Croque-Monsieur, Préfou, Crêpe, Brizhian Butter Shortbread, and Lion’s Taco.
Known vs. hidden attributes
Every knight’s features come in two buckets:
- Known – visible in the glossary the moment you recruit them.
- Hidden – real and fully active in the maths from day one, but invisible to you until revealed through conversations, quest outcomes, or story events.
A subset of the hidden features are flagged as Intendant rumors. These are specifically the ones Alwena can dig up for you once she’s on staff. She reveals them one at a time, and only ones you don’t already know.
The preference system
Knights have two kinds of preference, and both only affect affinity, not quest score:

These stack, a quest that’s the right type and has two liked conditions is worth close to +4 affinity.

Sovereign tags
Some knights approve or disapprove of your style as ruler. The five archetypes are Tyrannic, Wise, Kind, Audacious, Omniscient, applied to your decisions in audiences. Knights who like a tag gain affinity when you act that way, knights who dislike it lose affinity.

These carry no direct scoring formula. They act as keys. Quests check them for special outcomes (unique results, extra rewards, bonus scenes), and dialogue branches read them.

Lady Alwena, an iconic figure in Brizh, is also an old acquaintance of Sir Arlin. Hired to oversee the Tower’s management, she sees everything that happens. And she isn’t shy about talking about it.
| How to recruit | She becomes a knight only through a one-time emergency offer: when you open the Round Table with zero available knights, in Act 2 or later, she volunteers. “Available” means on the roster and not locked into an ongoing quest, and dead or resigned knights are struck off, so a wipe qualifies. You cannot ask for it and there is no second chance. She cannot die or resign. |
