If you’re looking into getting started with mod packs on Lethal Company, you’ve come to the right place! In this guide I’m going to explain how to use Thunderstore Mod Manager, create new profiles and how to use them. As a special bonus, ill also include my personal favourite mod packs for the host and for the client sides. Host only mods is a sperate list from client mods.
Host Only list: Only the host of the lobby needs to have these mods downloaded-along with mods that are in the Client list.
Client List: Everyone that wants to join your game NEEDS to have these installed, if just one person doesn’t, the game wont work.
Let’s dive in, shall we?
Installing Thunderstore
To start off were going to install Thunderstore Mod manager (Overwolf) which you can start your install from this link.
Next you’re going to click the “Download app” button which will bring you to a save location. I use my “C Drive”.
After downloading and installing Thunderstore it will bring you to a list of games that are available to mod. Were going to search for “Lethal Company”. When you see the game, hover over it with your cursor and click “Select Game”. *queue loading screen*
After your game selection is loaded, it will show a list of profiles (Don’t worry, if this is your first time you may not see any).
Making your own mod list
If you would like to make your own mod list, click “Create New” and think of a name! After creating your profile, it should highlight a light blue color- if so, click “Select Profile”.
My Mods- Where all of the mods you enjoy are
Get Mods- Look for mods that others have made, there are even mod packs uploaded here.
Downloads- Where your currently installed mods go before they appear in your “My Mods” list
Edit Config.- Configuration files for after you’ve launched and played the game
Settings- Settings for the specific profile you’ve loaded (this will be useful later)
Under the “Get Mods” Section, you can search for mods or browse the available mods for Lethal Company. I recommend downloading the pinned mod “BepInExPack”, this will let the mods run smoothly and some mods will already have it included, but not all of them. When you find one you like, when you click on it, you’ll see a short description of what the mod is, if you like it, click download. If you REALLY like it, you can also donate to the creator.
When creating Host and Client modpacks, I recommend naming them to which server they are for. (EG. “MyModPack-Host or MyModPack-Client”)
Exporting Mod Lists
When your friends want to join your game and play with the mods you enjoy, you can share your profile code! To do this select the profile you want to share, if you will be the host then share a client modpack code to them. Under the settings tab, if you scroll down you will see “Export profile as code” This will bring up the Profile Exported screen with a code, share the code to your friend.
Importing Mod Lists
When your friend sends you a code ill explain how to use it! On the Profile Selection page of Thunderstore, you’ll see “Import/Update” at the bottom of the screen. Go ahead and click that and if this is your first time using the code you’ll click “Import new profile” then “From Code”. Paste the code here and click enter. Boom, you have a new profile! Make sure you check it and ensure there are no updates that need to be installed.
Important Notes
When your profile is created and all your friends have the code installed. Everyone must launch the game from Thunderstore from this button:
If you or anyone else launches from the vanilla button, no mods will be used and you’ll go through the general gameplay.
When the game loads, a coding screen comes up and will show you all of the processes running, don’t pay too much attention to this unless you run into errors during gameplay, this window will show what’s not working.
ANY changes made to either account will make the old code insufficient. When changes are made you’ll have to share the new profile code. Using the code is the same as importing, except instead of importing, you’ll click import/update -> update existing profile -> from code.
With the above notes in hand, you can mod any game available that’s listed in thunderstore!
