Baldur’s Gate 3 Mac Support Patch Coming Soon

Baldur’s Gate 3 Mac Support Patch Coming Soon

Larian Studios’ critically acclaimed Dungeon and Dragons-inspired role-playing game Baldur’s Gate 3 will be receiving another major patch at the tail end of September! This announcement was made via a post on the publisher’s Twitter account on September 13, 2023 at 2 PM.

While the previously released Patch #1 had been made to prioritize fixing thousands of glitches within the game such as short races having a glitched kissimg animation and Patch #2 had added features such as Withers’ Wardrobe of Wayward Friends, Patch #3’s big selling point will be the addition of Mac support to the game!

Apple’s computer software Mac (short for Macintosh) is often overlooked in the PC gaming marketplace, leading to many games being completely unplayable on the platform. Despite this, there are a fair few gamers out there who have been demanding ports of RPGs such as Baldur’s Gate 3 for Mac. Thankfully, Larian Studios has listened to these voices and will be releasing their game on this platform.

Other than Mac support, it is unknown what other features or bugs will be adjusted when Patch #3 drops near the end of September, however it is expected to be large as Larian Studios has been carefully to label their larger patches and smaller hotfixes differently over the past few months.

Patch #3 will be released on September 21, 2023 for all platforms. The full patch notes are currently not available, but are expected to appear on Baldur’s Gate 3’s Steam page and Larian Studios’ website closer to release.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is currently available to purchase on PC via Steam and GOG, with the PlayStation 5 version expected to be released on September 2, 2023. An Xbox Series S|X port of the game is also expected to be released in 2023, but no release date has been given currently.
