On August 17, 2027, GungHo Online Entertainment announced that patch 1.07 of Nihon Falcom’s 2025 JRPG Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter would be a “Legacy Patch” that will change various bits of terminology in the game to better match the localizations of other games in the Trails franchise, which had previously been done by companies like NIS America and Xseed Games.
When the English version of Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter released, many longtime fans voiced criticism over how this entry designed to attract new fans in the franchise translated several important plot elements and locations in a different way from the other games, thankfully this new translation will bring things more in line with what players expect.
The terminology changes made in this patch will also apply to the English release of Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter when it launches next month.
Terminology Adjusted in the Legacy Patch
Below is a list of all the terms that GungHo Online Entertainment has announced will be changing with the release of the Legacy Patch.

Adjusted English Voice Pronunciations
In addition to changing several pieces of terminology to match with prior games, multiple cutscenes in 1st Chapter will also be redubbed with the release of the Legacy Patch to match how they sound in prior localizations. Below is a list of all the terms and names which will be changed to their original translations

The Legacy Patch is currently available to download on all platforms, Steam players who do not wish to play the game with this revised terminology will be able to instead download a branch 1.06.3 patch. This option will not be available on consoles.
