Stardew Valley

In Stardew Valley, players take the role of a simple novice farmer that has just moved to Pelican Town. They received a letter from their grandfather many years ago that gave them land there to start their farming journey.

You will have access to many tasks and skills that will allow you to make money and help improve the broken-down farm you’ve inherited. You will also get to meet a lot of people and will get to slowly improve the town bit by bit.

Sun Haven vs Stardew Valley

In general, Sun Haven and Stardew Valley are very similar. Players can tell that the developers for Sun Haven were probably Stardew Valley fans and they tried to make a version of the game that is much more engaging.

The skills are almost the same in both games, as you can improve your skills in farming, foraging, mining, fishing, and combat. However, in Stardew Valley, you won’t have as many choices about what perks you get when you level up.

A big difference between the games is that in Stardew Valley you have an energy bar that goes down every time you do something. This can be a bit annoying at the start of the game. Many players faint on their first day cutting trees and clearing their farm. Energy doesn’t exist in Sun Haven.

Another thing that Sun Haven brings to the table is magic. Players will learn powerful spells that will not only help them in combat, but in farming, foraging, fishing, and mining as well. Sun Haven also makes food much more important, as it helps you improve your health and mana stats permanently.

Stardew Valley also has a building called the Community Center that will allow you to fix the town by fulfilling fetch quests. Sun Haven does something similar, allowing you to fix buildings, statues, and many other things in town at any moment in time if you have the necessary resources.

One place where Stardew Valley might be doing better than Sun Haven is with romance. Stardew Valley has interesting cutscenes at different relationship levels that really help the player connect to the characters.

In Sun Haven, you will have to set up dates with your romantic interests, which are still fun, but don’t allow you to connect to them as well as you would in Stardew Valley. Stardew Valley also had more time to improve and the developer, ConcernedApe, has been constantly improving the experience for the players.

Which One is Better?

It can be hard to decide which game is better, as they both have their own appeal. Stardew Valley might not be as appealing to players that want more action and an engaging plot. Stardew Valley is much more relaxed than Sun Haven and it will require a lot of time to properly enjoy.

In general, the Sun Haven vs Stardew Valley question has a simple answer: if you don’t have a lot of experience in the genre and want to try it out, Sun Haven would be the better starting point. However, if you want a tried and true game that millions of people love, Stardew Valley is should be your choice.
