My Time at Sandrock is an interesting life simulator game where you get to live the life of a professional Builder, a person that can craft any kind of structure known to man. As opposed to the prequel, My Time at Portia, the player is stuck in the middle of the desert and has to face various problems that most people would never imagine. One of these problems is that sand gets stacked on top of your machinery and makes them inefficient. This can be horrible, since it can lose you resources and time. In this guide, we will show you how to clean sand off of your machines in My Time at Sandrock and how to fix the bug that makes the Feather Duster not work properly.

How to Clean Sand from Machines and Get Rid of Orange Icon in My Time at Sandrock

In My Time at Sandrock, you will occasionally see an orange duster icon appear over your machines. This means that your machinery has sand over it that needs cleaning. Otherwise, if you leave it like that, you will get a 50% penalty to efficiency.

To fix this problem and clean the sand in My Time at Sandrock all you have to do is use the Feather Duster you made for the Instant Karma side mission on the machines until you see a sparkling effect.

This should work, at least in theory. However, there seems to be a bug that shows you the orange sign even after you cleaned every bit of sand. Unfortunately, the reduced effect of the machines will continue unless you get rid of the icon.

The solution at the moment to fix this sand problem and clean it properly in My Time at Sandrock is to pick the machine up and then cancel to place it back. This will remove the orange icon and will clean the machine instantly.

From our experience, you will have to pick up all your machines and place them back. Luckily, you can pick them up even if they are in the middle of processing resources, so there won’t be any problems and this is faster than using the Feather Duster anyway.

And that is all you need to know about how to clean sand in My Time at Sandrock. Check out other interesting My Time at Sandrock guides and articles:
