Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact Reveals First Trailer

Early in December of 2023, it was announced that Bushiroad Games and Eighting would be developing a fighting game based on Shonen Jump’s popular Hunter x Hunter manga. On the night of January 6, 2024, the first trailer for this game was revealed.

The Hunter x Hunter fighting will’s official title has been revealed to be Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact. The name Nen comes from the in-universe power system of the manga.

The trailer appears to reveal the game as a 3v3 fighting game similar To Eighting’s previously developed title, Marvel vs Capcom 3. As six Hunter x Hunter characters enter the iconic Heaven’s Arena to face each other in combat.

The six confirmed characters in this trailer include the manga’s four central protagonists Gon Freecss, Killua Zoldyck, Kurapika, and Leorio Paradinight as well as two important side characters Hisoka Morow and Isaac Netero.

It is currently unknown how large the roster of the game will be, however, with Hunter x Hunter having one of the largest and most memorable casts of characters in manga history, it is inevitable that some fan-favorite characters won’t make the cut.

Fans are also debating on whether the game will be a 2D fighting game as expected from Eighting or if the game will follow current industry trends and be a 3D Arena Fighter similar to the Naruto Ninja Storm franchise or Ju Jutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash.

Most fans are hoping for the game to be like the former as 3D Arena Fighters aren’t looked at favorably by the public after several disappointing games in the genre. The trailer for Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact can be viewed on Bushiroad Game’s official YouTube channel.

There are currently no details on the release window for Hunter x Hunter Nen Impact, nor are there any details about which consoles it will be released for. more information is expected to be revealed in 2024.
