Master the art of heroism in Baldur’s Gate 3 by learning how to rescue everyone from the perilous grip of the burning building in Waukeen’s Rest. In this article, we provide you with a comprehensive guide to navigate the intense challenge and make critical decisions to ensure the safety of all involved. The path to success is riddled with obstacles and time-sensitive choices, and our guide equips you with the strategies and insights needed to emerge victorious. Here is how to save both Counsellor Florrick and the Trapped Man, Benryn, in Baldur’s Gate 3 from the burning building.

How to Save Counsellor Florrick in BG3 from Burning Building

There are two people you can save from the burning building at Waukeen’s Rest in BG3:

  • Counsellor Florrick
  • The Trapped Man, Benryn

In theory, it should be almost impossible to fail saving Counselor Florrick, as the flames will not reach her. Still, here is how you can save her:

  1. Approach the door where three guards are trying to push open the door.
  2. Attack the door with magic or a heavy weapon to destroy it. You don’t need to attempt the Strength check to open it.
  3. Climb to the second floor and open the door to the East.
  4. Counsellor Florrick will talk to you and then run out of the building.

If you go outside, you can have a conversation with her where she hopes that you will go on a quest to save the Duke from the Drow.

How to Save the Trapped Man Benryn in BG3 from Burning Building

There is a high chance Benryn will die in BG3 if you aren’t fast enough once the fire starts going crazy.

To the West of the room where you found Counsellor Florrick, there are two doors that, if you open, an explosion will happen and the whole building will start burning even worse than before.

Here is what you need to do to save the Trapped Man Benryn in BG3 from the burning tavern:

  1. There are two buildings besides the main one that the guards were trying to open in Wakeen’s Rest. Head to the second floor of the one to the West.
  2. You will see a hanging passage that will lead to the room where Benryn is screaming for help. Stay as far as possible from the door and destroy it using a ranged weapon or magic.
  3. The door will explode and you will have around 3 to 4 turns to save Benryn. Just run toward the door and you will find him trapped beneath debris.
  4. Interact with him and pass either a DC 10 Strength or DC 15 Investigation check to save him.
  5. The game will now get you into combat mode to control Benryn to escape, but you can just Exit TB Mode since he has an easy way out through the second building.

And that is all you need to know about how to save everyone from the buring building in Baldur’s Gate 3. Check out other interesting BG3 guides and articles:

Not sure if it’s a bug or not, but I can’t exit TB mode. I’ve rescued both and I’m stuck in TB mode even exiting the town?? Tried changing pressing L3, but won’t change. Playing on PS5
