Avatar the Last Airbender Event Flies into Fortnite

In a statement from the famous and reliable Fortnite leaker iFireMonkey on Twitter, it has been discovered that the popular cartoon franchise Avatar: The Last Airbender will be dropping into Epic Game’s massive Battle Royale very soon!

According to iFireMonkey, several strings of code are located in Fortnite’s API which contain references to a Last Airbender collaboration event for March of 2024, including references to an Aang skin and an Appa glider!

This event will apparently be a mid-season pass similar to the current Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles event. The Last Airbender event will see players complete 6 books worth of quests to obtain the Appa glider mentioned in the game’s API.

The exact date of this collaboration event is unknown, while the text strings within the API indicate that it will end on May 3rd, that text is likely a placeholder according to iFireMonkey. The actual date will likely be around the middle of Chapter 5 Season 2’s lifespan, similar to the current Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle event.

This upcoming event was likely designed to tie into the recently released Netflix adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender. While reception for this adaptation has been mostly negative, it is expected to be a talking point online for months to come.

Because the event is likely being created to tie into the current show, there is some speculation about whether the upcoming Aang skin will feature his cartoon designer or a look similar to his live-action counterpart.

Considering that Fortnite has tried to tie into more nostalgic designs in the past such as using Rogue’s 80s X-Men design, it is likely a safe bet to assume Aang will be featured in a cartoon art style.

Fortnite is currently available to play on Android, IOS, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series S|X, and PC via the Epic Games Store.
